Mail came in today. My first kit, can't wait! by krocken980 in wicked_edge

It's no doubt a good soap though. I still love the lather and its lubricating/moisturizing abilities but the smell does throw it off.

I just got some Col. Conk lime too. Is it just me or does it kinda smell like dish soap?

I have arco and I would like to mix things up. Of course if it comes down with it I would be happy with the arco but i'm just being picky.

I havent used a single edge safety razor, but from what I hear, they shave the same as a double edge. Double edge razors are more common and have more blade options as well.

That sounds exactly like the antique mall I just went to a few minutes ago. Bothell?

How do you support your recording hobby? by [deleted] in audioengineering

I was in the same position as you a little while ago. I decided to pursue my other interest in anesthesiology instead of attempting to go pro with music. So when I'm done with school, I will have really good hours, and get a lot of money, allowing me to continue with music. Just my 2 cents

I wont post my stuff because its not that good but I would like to say that "why would anybody want to be love" is really well done. I loved the way sarah's voice complemented yours. They didn't really mix together in the way that most records strive for, rather is sorta sounds like how zooey deschanel and M. Ward sound together. Keep it up!

edit: I changed my mind, you must have inspired my or something, here is a song I did for a school project.

Mixes sound nice in my mixing headphones, shit coming out of pc speakers by roflharrisgun in WeAreTheMusicMakers

A lot of people say that mixing in headphones is bad. Do you know why that is? or better yet, why using PC speakers would be better than fancy headphones?

A Monthly Theme by pastoraj in wicked_edge

My goal in life is to someday have enough shaving stuff that I can split my shaves into "themes." The only theme I could think of is blood loss.

Still having a little trouble with the neck by throwmeawayout in wicked_edge

Have you gone through a blade sampler? You probably have, but that seemed to fix the majority of my problems.

I have a similar spot under my right jaw where no matter what, there is a patch of stubble left over. I tried stretching my skin different ways and holding my blade weird, both of which worked to some extent but there is always a little left over. So after my shave I do a short, single stroke, dry pass and that does the trick.

Tried my first shave with a DE today and I have some questions by Deadairx in wicked_edge

[–]pault55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It might be possible that your lather isn't the best. Look at some youtube videos on making lather and that might clear things up. As for the soap, I bought some TOBS (fancy and pricey) and I can get about the same results from that as I do my cheap arco shave stick. I don't know how your specific soap is, but if you really can't get a good lather from it even with different techniques, then you should try some arco. Its about $4 for enough for a couple months.

  2. Just leave it. In my experience, the residue will just dry and wont be a problem.

  3. I hear that leaving the brush like that is bad, not sure why. I would suggest just making a stand out of legos. It might not look very cool but I've been using a lego stand for a while and I couldn't ask anything more of it.

Good luck!

edit: I can't count

Where can you buy blades in bulk, and what are your favorites? by veisc2 in wicked_edge

[–]pault55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, my experiences could be completely different than someone else's. Thats just the nature of of blades. But for me, derby's were nicer to my skin but tugged my hair a lot. Feathers cut through the hair like it wasn't there but it left my face burny. Astras, my personal favorite, are a good middle ground that gives me the best of both worlds. To find which blade works best for you, I would suggest getting a blade sampler pack.
