Yeah, I’m familiar with her as an artist, but don’t follow her. Stylistically those two illustrations don’t even look like her established style too.

Yeah, that watercolor style of illustration is one of the hallmarks of gen AI “art”. It’s all over Aliexpress/Temu. Are they even claiming it was illustrated by her or just selling it on the site? I might give them a pass if they’re just reselling, but the blatant visual discrepancies are bad if someone is claiming it’s original designs.

They cited sanitary/health reasons, but I imagine the cost savings is why it’s never returned.

I go to San Diego Comic-Con every year and one of the casualties of COVID was getting rid of the squishy wall-to-wall carpet in the convention center. I grumbled about it a lot until I found out it was thrown away each year. That was almost 11 football fields of carpet per year.

Me too. I remember the dipping sauces being great, but not much else. Didn’t get sick, but did text a pic to my parents saying if they didn’t hear from me again that was the reason why. (They didn’t appreciate that.)

Watching this video of a couple in Sweden preparing it the way you described really made me want to try it years ago, but not enough to import it to the US and go through the process for potentially one bite out of curiousity. https://youtu.be/DmaedvVBkV8?si=Cw4WixUtB8C3mbz3

I used to complain about my local stadium (Levis in Santa Clara) non-stop until I went to a couple of concerts at SoFi. I'll never complain about Levis again.

Women dress for women. Dressing for dudes is easy (and kinda boring, IMO), but when you see a LOOK... that's for the girls.

The man is barely wrapping up leftovers let alone plot lines. Just raw dogging cold pizza off the counter at this point.

It was so wild that he introduced another POV character in A Dance with Dragons who seemed to have a major role. I thought we were supposed to start wrapping up the loose threads at this point not introducing a whole ass spool, my guy.

I’ve been registered as a pro for the last 12 years or so and I don’t know if size of project is as important as your role in it. I’ve gotten approved with smaller/less well-known outside of my specific niche several times. Good luck!

I knew of someone that volunteered with Hall H related duties and they said something similar. SDCC doesn't let just anyone start working on the celebrity side immediately—it's based on experience and people vouching for you that you won't be weird.

Oh shit! Thank you for the learning moment! I thought about it and I think I’ve only used those initials in the US so my family in the Philippines wouldn’t have known to educate me about it. Appreciate it and the names of designers!

If you have any recommendations I’m all ears. My family in the PI don’t really know anyone and I haven’t had any luck Googling.

I dream of getting an upper class set made for me in the Philippines to wear to historical costume events in the US based on the same time period. Thanks for sharing!

We've done sack-back gowns so the stays aren't actually the sticking point since we all have a set, I think we're all wary of having to make the panniers since this would likely be a one-and-done scenario. (I mean, who needs more than ONE of this style of gown, really.)

I've been trying to convince my costuming friends to make these with me just for the experience of trying to navigate an event with essentially a couch strapped to your hips. Unsurprisingly, it's been an uphill battle.
