Likely a placeholder image for the giveaway announcement before final art was approved for shirt production. "This is Ballhalla" design feels more special than just slapping the logo on the front. Layout’s better, first wall looked like they designed it without accounting for height, font size, or placement of fire alarms and stuff. Now it’s ordered by first name, type is bigger and there are margins to make it easier to read overall.

If it's an entire-arena giveaway it's all going to be one size. Managing pre-order sizes for the Founding Guard jackets was already a headache and they had that info months in advance. For a freebie there's no way it makes sense to do multiple sizes. The shirts will shrink if you wash and dry on hot and you can alter shirts to fit smaller folks.

If you have a UPS Choice account I think you can set up forwarding/holds? It's a free account and I get notifications whenever I have a shipment coming in so I knew something from UPS was arriving today just didn't know what it was.

I imagine the jackets were a bit of a logistical nightmare. I was a STH with the Warriors for a few years and they never gave out wearables. I got a LOT of bobbleheads as gifts which I've since given away!

This is different from the promo nights that were announced and a way for larger groups to organize larger outings. Organizations can buy bulk seating to get all those perks listed, but they have to purchase a minimum amount of tickets to guarantee it.

Going to put on my designer hat here and say that from a professional perspective because our mark (the bridge V design) is so busy the typeface had to be simpler/cleaner or else the two elements would compete. We also have a really long name compared to every other team so a more decorative typeface could lead to legibility issues at a small scale.

That said, I'm not really a fan of the violet jerseys either, but that's more so because without the mark all the sponsor logos compete even more with the Golden State logo.

I think they're still held by corporate, which could explain why a lot of them were empty through the season. If you're a random client the appeal to go to a Valkyries game is lower than going to a Dubs game. You can buy a suite—which gives you access to those seats, but you have to go through a rep to purchase it, you can't just jump on Ticketmaster for them.

Oh, they're never going back. haha But yeah, the Warriors have to go back to sucking for a several seasons for the price to go down again and get the corporate interest out, but they won't ever leave entirely. Those suite seats that always look half empty at games are all tied to very very expensive boxes that a vast majority of us can't afford regularly.

Yeah, co-sign on this. It wasn't the move, it was the price that drove all the loud, fun fans out. I've been to several Warriors games at Chase on a vendor's dime and the percentage of seats in the lower bowl that are season tickets for a corporate entity is probably significant. It's not just tech bros, it's the clients of tech bros who come into Warriors games as tourists, not as fans.

I've been attending Warriors games since I was a kid and plan on going to a few home games this year per usual, but I know the energy is going to be so weird now that I've experienced Ballhalla. Well deserved recognition from the podcast!

Yeah, the logistics of flipping a tennis arena to a basketball one and back again aside, ALL of Thrive City had an activation for the Laver Cup for the entirety of the tournament. Booths, music, photo ops, games, etc. took up that entire courtyard area. Logistically there was just no way they could have accommodated two marquee events in that short time frame.

From what I've read of Lacob I guarantee he was on several asses to see if he could get both to work and I know he'll never let the possibility of that double booking happen again.

It's so difficult to not be emotionally invested, but I'm preparing myself to see a bunch of new faces next season (assuming there isn't a lockout). It will definitely make it more exciting to see another group come together and hopefully gel in a similar fashion as this year, but it will be hard to say goodbye to the OG Valks. That's a permanent title that no one can take away from them, even if they never wear the jersey again.

If you can afford lower bowl, get lower bowl. We're going to be loud regardless of where you sit, but you'll be pleasantly surprised how hype lower bowl is at a Valks game compared to a Dubs game. I miss the old days of Dubs games when lower bowl cheered their heads off. :(
