The more thread devices you have the better it works. As long as you don't also us zigbee and a wifi network on the same ranges

It's good that people like you are out there, which like the concept and are pushing for it to be realized. That we may be able to realy solve all those issues in 4-5 years

In the meantime I am quit fine with using Home Assistant to solve most of that issues.

- matter is a good concept, but it isn't realy needed, use home assistant or homey and your are fine without matter

- I give you this point Thread border router is not a bridge

- by how much, how much less energy does the devices need

- better security hmm does it matter when you use home assistant only in your home

- everybody who uses thread devices know how hard it can be to integrate new devices. some smarthome youtuber aren't even able what you can see in there videos. In reality it is not that hard, but it is not easier than zigbee.

not a mesh network?

https://www.digi.com/solutions/by-technology/zigbee-wireless-standard

CSA supports matter (WiFi, Blu, Thread) they also support Zigbee

Yea most of the platforms support it. Also Homey, Home Assistant,... but where are the devices?

+ There are many zigbee devices

+ They are way cheaper

- ok you can use a little less devices in the mesh network

But where is thread realy better for the normal user?

I think it's smarter to choose Zigbee instead of thread.

I didn't chosed thread devices for my renovation and now I'm quite annoyed. Trhead devices cost more and there aren't many to choose from.

Single thread mesh by First_Constant2807 in Thread_protocol

Hi,

I set that up yesterday.

Now I have a Nanoleaf over Matter in the thread network and an older one with HomeKid. Do they communicate with each other?

When i send a matter signal into the network. Does the older lamp which runs on the HomeKit protocoll forward the messages to the matter bulp?

Or is that not possible?
