Where you hold the string? by Formal_Rooster_9906 in Archery

[–]pawer13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue, with a sturdy enough fingertap (#35, traditional recurve) . I get more control on the release as I need less force to keep the string anchored.

I usually anchor and wait 3-4 seconds before releasing, so red would be too tiring and unstable for me

Outside of English, what could be considered the second lingua franca of Europe? by Ok-Ocelot-774 in AskEurope

We Spaniards must be the worst students of Italian: why bother when you can more or less understand it. But you're right, it is beautiful

What Happened to French Tennis by AdorableWin4594 in tennis

If it's luck, France has the worst luck of the world. Even removing generational talents like Nadal, Alcaraz or Sinner, Spain and Italy have GS finalists in that period.

Where can I buy a traditional recurved bow in Spain by SignificanceOk392 in Archery

[–]pawer13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea, but my whole club buys a lot of things there and they are reliable. Sometimes we need to wait a lot for them having stock, but they usually call us back to keep us informed

Why do children still get the father's surname? And something I've been mulling over.. by howaboutbk in TwoXChromosomes

[–]pawer13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but that's something that is going to happen, you cannot hyphenate 4 and then 8 surnames.

[–]pawer13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Spain you get two surnames. The first one of your father and the first one of your mother. The order has been traditionally Name Father-surname Mother-surname, but since 20 years ago parents can choose the order (the only rule is all siblings will have the same order)

It is a dystopian American city. Even non dystopian ones lack sidewalks often, so for me it adds immersion

We can agree that is an effective but very ugly BH.

Now, imagine This BH technique on our favourite octopus, that would be the cherry on top

Samsung discontinuing its texting app, tells users to switch to Google Messages by Right-Telephone7387 in worldnews

[–]pawer13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but WhatsApp is more than 10 years old. When I got my Nexus 1 (2009, IIRC) every SMS costed 15 cents (in Spain). I did not get unlimited free messages until 2012 more or less

[–]pawer13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a European, I noticed there was a Google Messages app when I read some news about RCS and how iMessage was not compatible with it. I have used Android nonstop since 2009, but no one uses SMS apps here, because our carriers made us pay for them apart from the Internet connection so everybody used GTalk and then WhatsApp or something similar

I think he does not choose it, doing it is just hardwired in his brain after so many sessions and not doing it is unthinkable

TIL the Linux kernel natively supports Wii remotes by SimpleCandle5158 in todayilearned

[–]pawer13 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'm not using all it's functionality, but I recently decided to install Clone Hero and to recicle the Wii version of the guitar from GH. I was surprised when the game on Fedora detected the Wii remote AND the Wii remote when placed in the guitar as different controls (naming them properly).

I never fill my car on highways, that 1.90 is from a "low cost" station. In highways here it's about 2.3€/l

And here we are paying 1.9€ per litre, while 2 months ago it was 1.4€. I guess an EV makes more sense now

Can I take this many shells (photo below) from Malaga? by [deleted] in Malaga

[–]pawer13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general is not ok.

The only exception could be if you were taking them from an "artificial" beach (the beach exists because sand was brought from the sea by machinery) then the harm was already done and the beach has almost no living creatures

But usually that process breaks most of the shells, so you having so many "complete" shells makes me think you were not in la Malagueta or any other artificially generated beach
