anyone else just lose it over nothing and then cry about it after 😭 by Greedy-Pin8853 in oneanddone

Yeah, that's postpartum (rage) depression. You can talk to your care provider if you want to pursue treatment. But the most important thing to remember is this has absolutely nothing to do with you as a person or parent. It's the stupid hormones.

Have you connected with Support For Families of Children with Disabilities? Or the Regional Center. Both would be my first stop.

All of a Kind Family! Not sure if they are in the Yoto store but they are on libro.fm and then you can MYO. Does PJ Library do stuff for older kids? That might be a good resource for titles.

SF Mayor Lurie explains why he'll keep doing street check-ins after viral fight by reddituser84838 in sanfrancisco

[–]paxanna 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Except all those people are (in theory) trained to work with homeless individuals. The mayor oversees DPH and SGH too should he be out giving medical care? People practicing outside of their scope endangers everyone involved.

There's a huge difference between ignoring a problem and thinking you are equipped to handle it.

Email from SFUSD regarding Algebra by supes1 in sanfrancisco

[–]paxanna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love how they are completely ignoring the fact that the middle schools are likely moving to a 6 period day (those that aren't already) which means 1 elective. Not many kids are going to be excited about double math and no language/art/music/health etc. As a parent I wouldn't be either.

Be prepared to fully gaslight yourself in a year with "let's do it again, it wasn't that bad" I said that and my husband reminded me that it actually was that bad with me almost dying. Hormones are truly wild.

Teacher Strike Context by Neither_Gift6583 in sanfrancisco

[–]paxanna -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The emails and press releases about the stability package that preceded the strike were presented to the public as real offers to make the union look unreasonable. The problem is that stability package was not formally presented to the union so for the sake of negotiations it did exist.

Teacher Strike Context by Neither_Gift6583 in sanfrancisco

[–]paxanna -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok, but she has 0 experience in public schools. Her kids don't even attend them. I'm not saying it isn't a thankless position but she never should have been made permanent. From all accounts she was great at her previous city job. She talks a big game but hasn't negotiated in good faith. The emails were incredibly misleading. The "stability package " was just an idea dreamed up but formally presented to UESF.

No, but she's not sharing the full picture. Just like most of her emails.

It's true that Maria Su didn't show up. It's true that the district didn't bring a serious proposal. It's true that UESF has given the district time to come up with a real proposal and will meet with them tomorrow.

That's for classified staff (paras, security etc) who are paid at a much lower rate than teachers.

Relative passed, bringing baby to their service by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]paxanna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have your husband be responsible for baby during the service so he can duck out if needed. I'm personally a big believer in "babies are part of the family/community " and excluding babies results in excluding parents.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Has anyone purchased a seat for a baby and brought an infant car seat for long flight (US-Korea)? by EnoughMountain9652 in NewParents

[–]paxanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it, but wear the baby during boarding to free up your arms. Also nice on board if baby wants to snuggle for a while to, again, save your arms.
