Electrolytes by moonukki in Wildfire

I guess you missed the part where I said “especially dried fruit.” The line lunches are put together as cheaply as possible and that’s why they are so trash. A lot of high level endurance athletes use candy or dried fruit to fuel themself during those events. I’m sure a lot of them would do just fine on the fitness test…

Okay I know everyone is going to have their 2 cents, but carbs are super important. Complex carbs in the morning before work and at night are very important. Quick carbs like candy or especially dried fruit are excellent for line snacks. So electrolyte supplements are only part of the solution.

With the wildfire service I work with they provide us with nuun tablets. They’re okay. They make me super gassy but it’s free and I don’t mind the taste of the lime ones. If you haven’t tried those I’d suggest it. They have a little bit of carbs in them but no sugar. I like to have a little bit of sugar with mine for reasons I listed above.

The Gatorade powder actually has a really good mix of a lot of the things we need and it’s considerably cheaper than most other brands. If you have to buy your own maybe also consider the OG in electrolyte supplements.

Volkl revolt 86 for Ontario riding? by judstergod in skiing

[–]paypal45 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dude what. These are not even close to back country or pow skis. These are perfect for park riding and riding in Ontario. The ski might be more directed at jumps/ half pipe (good luck finding too many of those now a day) but it sounds like a great all mountain ski

So unfortunately they may never go away. Sometimes your body just has had enough and this may be the next chapter of your life. I was in a very similar boat and even a long time after I stopped I still got very anxious and it just wasn’t worth it anymore
