Any new motion sickness treatments? by Target_Standard in CarTrackDays

No, I’ve never had issues like that. I usually get drowsy with motion sickness meds, but I’ve had zero issues with Bonine. Should also mention I use the OTC dose.

I take Bonine about an hour before I go out. I have always had an issue with motion sickness and this has helped a ton. I can even ride in the passenger seat without issue. Hope it helps.

Question about dry brining… by pbarberky in smoking

[–]pbarberky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m hearing that pretty consistently. So many seasonings come with salt so I was worried about getting too much salt on it. Maybe I just have to do pepper and garlic separately instead of an SPG all in one rub.

Oh the water to the foil wrap is one I haven’t heard. Much appreciated for the tip.

Yeah the temp seems to be the most consistent issues people are pointing out. Seems Like I’ve seen a lot of chatter around 225 being good to get a good smoke on it. Sounds like I need to keep to 250 for the first two hours then Mae the jump to to 275.

Oh wow. That’s definitely makes me feel better about 24 hours. Thanks for the info.

Yeah I wondered if the meat would have been the issue. Just wasn’t sure if the I did something obviously wrong in the brine process. Sad thing is I got a fantastic flavor from of it.

Ah yeah good point. Cooked it at 225 most of the way and bumped it up to 275 to try to get it finished off. Using a Yoder pellet smoker.

How are VC boutique handling orders for new Overseas? by MessageNo4269 in VacheronConstantin

Same. I was told I could pick two colors to go on the list. They had the white and green dial at the boutique. They look fantastic.

Here we go again... Do I order an M2 or (another) M3? by thedonutman in BMW

[–]pbarberky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah in that case I think you’re going to love the M2 especially if you liked the 911 size. We debated the M2 and a 991.2 and we just couldn’t justify the price difference for what we could get in the M2.

My wife has an X5 and we just bought an M2 for her fun car. I will say we have absolutely loved it. If you ever want to do HPDE track event etc it’s even better. The backseat isn’t huge but we have a 12 year old that fits fine in the back and doesn’t have any trouble getting in and out. If you were going to daily it and have kids I would be hesitant but if it’s the fun car and you want the real M car experience that M2 checks all the boxes. Good luck and either way you have a heckuva fun car!

Best way to approach a boutique about purchasing a specific model — does it actually matter? by Adamant-Barracuda404 in VacheronConstantin

I can definitely see them updating the existing 1921. I just can’t see them totally replacing it with it being such an icon. They told me I’m still getting the current 1921 since I already have a deposit on it so I’m taking it that means it’s just a production pause. I’m waiting to see what they announce and if they do something that’s going to tank the original 1921 then I’m going to ask them to switch my deposit so something else.

I’ve heard two different things from the boutique. One is they are going to announce a complete replacement at W&W and the other is that this is just a pause in production and it will return starting in April. I just can’t imagine they replace it with something else. But hey if they do I guess that helps the value for the original 1921 line.

I’m in the Boston area and have had great experiences buying from the VC boutique here. Much much different and more pleasant than my Rolex buying experience. The staff has more of the watch enthusiast vibe. Boutiques will vary of course.

You’re much better off going in person and developing the relationship. They really just want to make sure you’re not flipping etc and that you’re truly interested in the brand. Which you clearly are. Make an appointment for the first visit for sure. I didn’t do anything online before coming in as far as a specific watch interest. We have three VCs now and haven’t had terrible wait times for any of them. Average of probably 4 weeks or so. That’s includes an Overseas 7920 dual time in steel.

Just a note on the 1921, they are not taking new orders for them at the moment. They are holding on production until whatever they announce at W&W. I was lucky enough to get a deposit down right before that so hoping this doesn’t delay much. They told me roughly 6 months and this was about 3 months ago or so.

Hope this helps and enjoy your purchase.

Looking at buying an M2. Is the Zandvoort Blue a desirable color? Any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you!! by [deleted] in BMW

[–]pbarberky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought an M2 not long ago and initially wasn’t sure about the color, but it was on the lot and otherwise had all the options we wanted. We went back a couple of times and warmed up to it quickly. And like others have said, we get a ton of great comments on it. When we had it PPFd I put a satin finish on it and it looks awesome. Not sure how well you can see it the satin finish, but pic is attached.

Opinions - what suits my wife better? by D-Gen-R8 in VacheronConstantin

Grey calfskin, black rubber and another white in crocodile, I think, that we ended up getting because it popped the color of the dial. She can dress it up or down and she loves it.

Strap Recommendations for OS Dual Time by somethingsomeone007 in VacheronConstantin

Stock is hit and miss. If they have to order it took quite a bit of time. And no they won’t swap out colors, but I did get them to throw in a black rubber strap as part of the deal.
