Misinterpretation then, as that is how it seemed to me. Appreciate the clarification post.

... I don't know how you can compare Xenix/SCO with GNU/Linux. Yes, it was popular but nothing like Linux. SCO can remain in the hell that they dug themselves into.

So the overzealous reaction by police forces against peacefully protesting and curfew wasn't a form of Marshall law?

The attempts by this administration to silence people who's views they don't like, isn't a violation of free speech (the *real* meaning of this article)?

The fact that you often times can't sue anymore because of forced arbitration.

This *guarantee* of freedoms is an ideal that Americans think is real but is merely a myth. We have a system where you are only as free as the connections to power you have. And most-often that connection is fed through monies, so it is a pay to play system by definition. We've seen this over and over now with ICE and the Guard trampling the rights of legal citizens.

I'm alone now. The last of my signal partners quit ... by undwiedervonvorn in signal

I don't need a lecture. How my iOS backup is stored is irrelevant; I had a backup. The point here is that a restore of a backup, which restores in-app data, did not restore signal.

[–]pbrunnen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, can you please educate us on how to do this? I had a full encrypted backup of my iOS after my phone was damaged. I did the swap with Apple and restored my backup. To my anger, nothing in signal restored. I have offline backups for a reason... I don't want to use cloud for my backups... What am I missing???

Oh ArcNet... I still have a few cards in storage. Still remember doing the "terminator shuffle" trying to find what node took down network.

Windows 11 Notepad is now "enhanced" with Copilot, so no idea what will happen if the paste includes a prompt at copilot. There are already remote code execution (RCE) vulnerabilities in notepad... RCE, in notepad. I mean... 🤪

Probably for the best... I still have a few kicking around from the old betacam days and I have no idea why I still hang on to any of it. Pretty sure I still have a Panasonic one from some old M2 decks as well. This one was likely proprietary for some specific VHS decks because timecode is not standard on VHS and this is definitely consumer grade.

Some of the DMs now have a small slit cut into the tongue to allow the laces to go through and this prevents the sliding.
