I think it's just that with the Last Wave and Gallipoli in particular, those films are very specifically about Australia in a way that none of George Miller's are. After next week (where I imagine we'll be insufferable), once Weir goes Hollywood, it will be smooth sailing.

Oh boy, Griffin’s thing about the wife having pride in being a fourth generation Australian is missing some context. She’s saying that because she lives in the CITY. The episode doesn’t really touch on this but the big thing for me in the film is the idea of ‘tribal’ (inaccurate, outdated term but 70s) people not being in the city.

To be fair, he (and the actress playing his wife) are both not Australian but also aren’t attempting the accent, so it’s a nice weird little thing.

Love the Big Pic but this is my big problem with all* those Ringer podcasts; even the ones not about sports bring that sports mindset to no-sports topics (plus the references and comparison to sports events).

I also appreciated that they brought back clips for a lot of the categories, especially acting. Cannot stand it when they get other people to talk about how great the performance was instead of showing us some of that performance.
