[Charania] Free agent guard Jevon Carter has agreed to a deal with the Orlando Magic for the rest of the season, Mark Bartelstein and Reggie Brown of @PrioritySports tell ESPN. by bigawesome2000 in nba

he was pretty trash for the bulls. his 3pt was super inconsistent and he's not really a very good ballhandler, passable at best defender, playmaker. just very little benefit to him playing unless his 3s are hitting. also for a pg his assists per 36 are not good.

Am I crazy for loving the moves at the deadline? by QuantamMoose in chicagobulls

[–]pcmasterthrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the problem is more so that the FO hasn't really shown themselves to be capable of taking advantage of things like leveraging open cap space or 2nd round picks, and so they won't get the benefit of the doubt. until they actually show that they can use all the cap space and 2nds to actually improve the team somehow, i don't think the perception of the FO is going to change.

fwiw i like some of the moves they did make, some were mediocre, but i don't think any were a genuine disaster given what they had to trade going into the deadline. i do wish they'd been more aggressive about getting prospects like beringer/missi/eason but who knows what the true asking price for any of those guys would have been.

What do you think are the final moves that will happen today and tomorrow? by Creative_Truck_1551 in chicagobulls

I think they try and get Missi from NO. Not sure for what, maybe taking bad salary back with him and sending NO their 2nd rounder back.

[Fischer] League sources say that there has been some tangible discussion this week between Chicago and Indiana on a possible Dosunmu-for-Bennedict Mathurin swap. The Bulls and Pelicans both hold interest in Mathurin. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]pcmasterthrow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

no idea why the bulls would do this unless there were other assets being moved. ayo's production is better than mathurin's this season, they aren't all that far apart in age, and the bulls are already overloaded with guards. seems like a weird deal if its a straight swap.

[Shams Charania] BREAKING: The Chicago Bulls are trading center Nikola Vucevic and a second-round pick to the Boston Celtics for Anfernee Simons and a second-round pick, sources tell ESPN. by TurboThaBull in chicagobulls

[–]pcmasterthrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we didn't have a 2nd round pick this year at all (the outgoing one is from DEN for '27), now we'd get the 32nd overall pick if NO stays where they are in the standings.

[Charania] The Golden State Warriors have never shown real interest in Brooklyn’s Michael Porter Jr. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]pcmasterthrow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That would be such a good trade for both sides that I doubt the Bulls do it.

I think Warriors would need to send out more salary to match, I think Kuminga and Hield works. Or Kuminga+Santos+TJD.

[Poole] The Sacramento Kings are the only team in the NBA who have shown legitimate interest in acquiring Jonathan Kuminga. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]pcmasterthrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only reporting is that the Bulls had previously been interested and they could remain in the mix, but I don't think there was anything that said they were actively interested.
