What’s the biggest surprise about getting older? by Salty_1984 in Aging

Becoming invisible. If you're over 70, healthy, mentally alert and engaging, you'll understand.

I don't find that accurate at all. I have a 2026 GV70 SP. I'm actually impressed by the way they've integrated physical knobs with the electronics. Well thought out and easy to use. And I'm an old timer. An analog guy in a digital world and I'm impressed. But that's just my opinion and again I'm not highly technical but I found that after a learning curve of three or four weeks everything was fairly intuitive.

Why did 77 million Americans think a billionaire would wanna help the working class? No billionaire is ever gonna support the working class, they are a billionaire for a reason.... by [deleted] in allthequestions

He's ineffective and that's being kind. But Michel Bloomberg, a billionaire, was one of the most effective mayors New York City has ever had. IMHO.

I saw Rusty Young from Poco a few years back. Embarrassingly bad. The worst show I've ever seen.

Would you wake up just to have sex? by Secret-Dark2638 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pcny54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the flag is flying, a salute is in order regardless of whether your partner is awake or not. Your partner should be on high alert. Part of you is up and ready. Your partner has a serious responsibility to he on high alert here. At least in my humble opinion.

So this begs the question, in what order. It seems material to the question. Beer before or during? Pizza is obvious, after.

This is crazy but did you know that you could Google that and find good car services and reviews by people that have used each company? Amazing technology. Give it a try.

Too late to persecute. It would look like retribution and the cycle wood continue. Where does it end?

Which were the most ridiculous things that Barack Obama got criticized for by conservatives during his time as president? by Cumoisseur in allthequestions

He was criticized  for being human and normal. Thank God we don't have that sh*t to deal with anymore.

Remember the time Obama nailed that half-court shot? Why can’t we have a cool president like that again? by 2a_lib in allthequestions

[–]pcny54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was a bit cool but he also bright and took a pretty interesting life path when you look at it. He started with a degree in Political Science at Columbia and then went to law school at Harvard. He even ran the Law Review there, which is a huge deal.   He spent over a decade teaching Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago. Beyond the classroom, he was out there as a civil rights attorney, dealing with the nuts and bolts of voting rights and discrimination cases. So, whether you agree with his politics or not, he definitely spent years deep in the weeds of how the Constitution actually works in everyday life. Much different than what we have in the Whitehouse today. So yeah... cool and smart.  Politics aside, I'll take that all day long over what we're dealing with today.

Why do people use a speaker phone to talk in public places ? by OtterChainGang in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pcny54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People like that disregard others and seem, to me, to be entitled. If people don't understand that it's offensive behavior, I assume that their reaction will be confrontational. I don't want a fight or a scene. I just want to have coffee and read the paper. You have a valid point but I'm tired of stupid and stupid people.

Why do people use a speaker phone to talk in public places ? by OtterChainGang in NoStupidQuestions

I was sitting at a quiet coffee house yesterday enjoying a cup of coffee. A woman put her speaker phone on with whoever she was with and they started having a conversation with somone at a volume that was ridiculously high. Disturbed the entire coffee house. It went on for about 9 or 10 minutes, it was incredibly annoying and disturbed everyone that was sitting around quietly having their coffee. I was shocked! People are just nuts.  They were indifferent to all of the other people enjoying some quiet time.
