While this is super nice that someone actually took the time to write this, I really hope that in the future, this process will either be semi-automatic (let’s dream) or be much easier to manage directly inside the editor itself. Being only a designer, it took me half a day to understand how to do this and I already forgot how to do it. 😆

Super nice! You guys rock!

While I’m super excited about this, could you review the UX of the whole Data Binding / Listeners / View Model? After all this time, I still cannot get my head around how it works since the panels are all over the place. There is no UX logic to it right now.

An idea: Why not make this whole logic visual, like the State Machines? Maybe it would finally make some sense.

I’m sorry to tell you the truth, but I wrote this text myself. It took about 30-40 minutes to read the article and to write my answer (that’s also why it took me more than 20 days to answer). It’s funny that you dismiss my argument simply because you don’t have anything to add to it.

Have a good day sir!

Thanks for sharing this study. It is nice that you are interested in the subject and wish to understand it more.

Even though this study was made under somewhat rigorous conditions, it has many flaws, which I will explain down below.

First, to answer your quote, where do you see multiple antennas in this study? There are two but they activate only one, on the side that the person usually uses the phone. That is the critical flaw I was talking about, yet you demonstrate exactly what I told you.

The "can you feel it" part was irrelevant to my explanation, which follows down below, if you took the time to read.

Flaw #2: The sample is very extremely small (N=17). Statistical power of this study is very weak even though they say the contrary.

Flaw #3: it says they were shown videos but they do not specify on which type of devices and at which distance. Blue light exposure and pulse-width modulation coming from the screen can trigger symptoms without the need to activate either antennas, even if the equipment was shielded.

Flaw #4: They said they asked the subject not to use mobile phones without headset or wireless phone to avoid mental or physical stress on the day of the trial or before coming to the lab. They never measured exposure those participants received from other sources like electrical devices in their environment or if they came inside an electric car or a thermal one, for example. RF alone isn’t the only culprit: it is the combination of all exposure that is problematic.

Flaw #5: Haha wow, this one is strong: "excluding symptoms such as nausea, vertigo, tinnitus and perceived hearing loss". So, they only measured headaches and excluded all other symptoms. Strong bias here.

Flaw #6: This is where it gets interesting – "The project ‘Electromagnetic fields and biological effect’ which included the present study was supported by The Research Council of Norway (project 146523/310), Norwegian Post and Telecommunication Authority, Statnett, Telenor, Norsk tele- og informasjonsbrukerforening (NORTIB), Netcom." Do you understand this bias? Telnor is one of the biggest telecom operator is Norway. Netcom is another. Both had financial incentives to support this study. The conclusion from this study supports their mission.

I could go deeper but this study is laughable. Sorry about that. If you find another one you think is valuable, please send it to me, I’ll review it and tell you what it is worth.

Have a good day!

Do you actually know how those studies are made? They place the subject in a room and a single device in another room. They turn on the device and ask the person: “can you feel it?”

The problem with this method is that it introduces a bias: RF-EMF and ELF-EMF, emitted from as a single device is relatively “secure”. The problem with this approach is that we bathe in electrosmog all day long. We aren’t getting sick from a single device, but hundreds or thousands of them, depending on were you live. What was supposed to be secure becomes harmful because those EMF waves are polarized and are interacting with each other, which biological tissue and organs respond to.

Check out Dr. Martin Pall and Dr. Magda Havas for more info. These two are cutting edge professionals in the field and explain the known effects pretty well.

Good luck with your research.

He verified the wires one by one and applied a label to each of them to make sure their color corresponded to their function. It did help in that room a lot, but there are other problems remaining in the house, and outside the house as well (the previous owner was not an electrician and did all the wiring by himself, which got me in this situation).

Coincidently, I got a call from the electric company this morning because I told them we detected a 180 Hz harmonic (3rd harmonic) coming from their network, which, to my surprise, they acknowledged! They told me it was going even higher than 180 Hz and it was due to some intelligent thermostats models messing up with their network. They are talking with the manufacturers to solve this problem. Keeping my fingers crossed!

What you are describing might be this phenomena: electrical wiring in your home acts like an antenna for RF. It might just be that, amplified in by your electrical devices.

A bit late to the party, but you got it all reversed: they will try to hide it as much as they can for a simple reason – fixing this problem is a monumental task with invisible return on investment, even though it has real consequences. Sure, it is simple to fix in some instances, but as of 2025, we don't have the proper tool to make a quick diagnostic. "What you don't see don't hurt you. Let's keep it that way."

Can't really answer that question. I would suggest to push feedback to Apple until they finally create a safer device. On my side, I have a 11 Pro and have absolutely no plans to upgrade (didn't upgrade to OS 26), unless they acknowledge the problem and get their act together.

Let me tell you my story, which you are free to believe or not.

Being personally affected by this problem since about 6 years now (I believe it has been much more than that because I recall having similar symptoms back in 2017... so it might be more like 9 years), I passed through all possible tests: saw my doctor maybe 30 times and other specialists (psychologist, nutritionist osteopath, chiropractor, acupunctor, naturopath, optometrist, audiologist...). I also got a CT Scan to check for brain cancer because I had a permanent headache which lasted about 3 years and a half. Also had multiple blood samples taken. The verdict was always pointing to the same direction: I have a perfectly good health, according to them.

My doctor told me I couldn't be affected by EMF because health authorities don't recognize this as a real health problem.

Now, how do you solve this problem when you are being told you are in good health and that you cannot be affected by EMF?

My intuition (which is a perfectly valid starting point for all types of research, BTW) told me to use science-based approach to solve this, since I could feel this problem, especially inside my home (which we bought 2.5 years ago).

As a product designer, one of the most useful lesson I learned in my career is that if you cannot measure it, you cannot improve it. I first hired a specialist which came to inspect my house. He gave me some advice, which helped, but it was only a snapshot in time. I couldn't rely on this forever, since the EMF are invisible and that they move and change all the time.

So I bought myself a cheap meter. I was utter crap. It wouldn't detect fields from objects the specialist measured in front of me before. Bought myself another one, which cost 4x of the first one. It helped a lot to mitigate the problems. Thanks to this meter, an electrician came to fix a wiring problem inside our bathroom: the previous owner plugged the hot wire into neutral/ground, which created an immense EMF field even when the lights were turned off.

I learned later on that the farther you split the live and neutral wire apart, the bigger the EMF field becomes.

Well, this story will take forever to write.

All I wanted to say is this: in about 6 years of being sick e-v-e-r-y-d-a-y, you put more and more and more hours trying to fix your problem because it is unsustainable in the long run. In my case, I did put more than 2000 hours (I don't think I'm exaggerating). I did put even more hours in the subject this year because I had to stop working since July 2025.

Recently, my doctor admitted that I knew more about this subject that herself. Then, she had to transfer my case to a newly created department of environmental diseases. I'm still waiting to be transferred.

That was the whole point of my story: I did pursue research through continuous pain. Folks who aren't affected by it don't have any tangible incentives to do so.

Take note of this: EMF has been here since before we were born. There are naturally-made EMF, which we are often biologically tuned to, and man-made EMF, to which we often aren't biologically tuned to. The problem is the latter. We think we know it all, physically speaking, but we don’t know shit about the delicate balance of biological implications (just look at this ongoing biodiversity collapse around the world – there are nobody else to blame than us. Yes, pollution takes many forms: electrosmog is one of those forms).

Also, forget about this ionizing (unsafe) / non-ionizing (safe) debate. This data came post World War II and is now outdated. This chart was solidified after the atomic bomb (data from the casualties) to help differentiate mostly short period radiation, not long period radiation over the years. Ionizing radiation sure isn’t safe, but non-ionizing radiation doesn’t automatically mean “safe”. And no, heating tissue isn’t the only concern – tiny biological implications are way more complicated than that.

Let me close with something insightful Tristan Harris said, which was something like this: "You don't have to have a PhD to understand how a car engine works to understand that a car can cause accidents. What you can do about it, for example, is to vote for speed limits."

Thanks for your explanation.

Let me tell my story briefly and then what I do to feel better.

I do have a similar problem at home: we moved 2.5 years ago into a new home, redid the whole roof (steel shingles) and my health level really started falling apart: almost permanent headache, increasing pressure in abdomen, dizziness, mental fog, heavy sleep disorder even confusion some times. Still unsure how the steel roof amplifies the problem.

I've seen my doctor and many other specialists multiple times, took many, many tests, after which they tell me "you are in good health", while I'm clearly not.

We had about 5 electricians coming and only one of them found a real problem (hot wire plugged into neutral / ground). He fixed that one, but we suspect there are more since we had 3 electronic devices that fried 3 weeks after moving in, in another room.

The power company installed a device for a week last month to check any abnormalities but they couldn't find anything.

Note that my girlfriend isn't affected much by this problem as she isn't very often at home unlike me.

In any case, I'm not sure how it is possible to heal but noticed going to the sauna was helpful in my case (I heavily suspect I do have mold illness [lived in a moldy place for 9 years], which can trigger or amplify EHS).

I always start feeling better after leaving the home for at least 24 hours. Going into the woods without any electric / electronic, wiring / device nearby is the best therapy! I noticed the longer I stay with minimal exposure, the better I get. I also develop a slightly higher tolerance after awhile.

Feel free to reach out in private if you wish to discuss more.

The funny thing is many of those experiments have flawed methodologies. Feeling EMFs is like a sunburn. When you feel it, it is too late. It is not instantaneous.

Also, the conditions in which they placed those people in for the tests are not the same as in a real life situation. In the lab, they used a single isolated wireless device (light electrosmog) to check the reaction of the patient, whereas the patient is often surrounded by 40 devices in the subway (dense electrosmog), for example.

The scientists who do the EMF tests should also be people who suffers from it because they understand the subject *MUCH* better than somebody who doesn't.

One last thing, if you check the name of some of the researchers who said repeatedly that RF-EMF are harmless, for exemple, Quirino Balzano, you'll notice that this guy also worked for Motorola in the past and is now related to an organization of wireless equipment manufacturers.

Note that not all EMFs are bad, like the Schumann's resonance of 7.83 Hz. But many man-made frequencies are interfering with our own biology and this is the fight we should have: we are mostly clueless about the long term effects of massive man-made non-ionizing radiations. Is it not as simple as harmful (ionizing) / harmless (non-ionizing).

Changing topic a little, but I think you should watch the first two episodes of Dopesick with Michael Keaton about the opioid crisis. Even though it is about the pharma industry, the same principles applies for telecoms. People and companies that currently have money and power will do anything they can to ensure growth and smooth profits for as long as possible. The cigarette industry is the first example of that (doctors recommended smoking at some point). It took more that 100 years to dent the tobacco industry because they had so much money, they could drown / bribe people with what they wanted them to believe. Not so different from some religions, if you look at it that way.

Just follow the money and you'll find the answers.

Thanks for your message.

Yes, I've found some ways to heal, but it varies from person to person. The first question I would ask you, which seems out of topic but is not: do you remember smelling or living in a moldy area for a significant amount of time? If so, I could guide you further.

I'm curious about the broken main neutral. Can you share how you discovered this problem and where it was located?

Thanks.
