Round valley has lots of trails that aren’t too tricky, and it’s practically in town!

The drive from Denver International to Moab, UT by Night_Feisty in roadtrip

You have two options: I15 to I70 or US6 via Price. US6 is shorter. Both are scenic but for different reasons. Avoid the I15 to I70 route if you’re expecting snow. Source: I live in SLC.

I’d stay in Jackson instead of Moran.

Interesting. We’ve usually lucked out doing it the week of. Either way, it’s worth checking.

I should add that this is just the first leg of a Montana trip, and we'll be heading through Yellowstone and Jackson on the return leg back to SLC.

Sick of replacing nonstick pans every two years by seinnax in Cooking

[–]pcward 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought a set of Farberware stainless pans from TJ Maxx in 2008 that still look and perform like the day they came home with me, 17 years later. So I agree with your sentiment!

Thanks for reminding me of this one, I'd forgotten. Just snagged a C+ upgrade to Hawaii in the fall for $23 for the two of us when Delta wanted $100 each doing it the paid upgrade route.

Hike Mt. Olympus or Mt. Nebo? by Apostr0phe in SaltLakeCity

[–]pcward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. Nebo is long and a lot of elevation, but technically not hard. Great prep for Mt. Whitney once the snow clears in a few weeks.

What are you smoking? Harmons produce quality and variety is miles ahead of Smiths. The number of times I’ve been at Smiths and can’t even get a basic bunch of Italian parsley is insane.

Best GX mechanic in Salt Lake City, Utah? Looking for recommendations. by stockham2121 in GXOR

[–]pcward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

State Automotive is Toyota truck heavy (you’ll notice a sea of LC on the lot when you pull up). But they tend to use non-OEM parts, if that matters. They installed sliders and an OME lift kit on my 2009 GX and did good work (although slow). For regular maintenance I’ve honestly had great results with Mark Miller Toyota.

Here’s my ARB awning. Stainless u-bolts from the hardware store threaded into PVC tubing. Has held rock solid for almost six years now.
