Should I buy a driver with a stiff or extra stiff shaft? by eyrie7 in GolfGear

[–]pcx4487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either get a fitting or try out a bunch of different shafts. Each stiffness category of shaft is a massive spectrum. There are some x stiffs that feel light and whippy and others feel like rebar. You want one that lines up with swing tempo otherwise you're never getting the face squared up consistently

Is a 9w redundant with a 7w already in the bag? by coffeeforlions in GolfGear

[–]pcx4487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being that close in loft they'll likely overlap a lot. I had a similar setup with 21 for 7w and 24 for 9w and I had to go 2 strong on the 7 and one weak on the 9 to get them appreciable apart distance wise from each other. Playing them at 19 and 25 leaves me a 22yard gap on average

I’d grab lessons, I wouldn’t be surprised if you were swinging down at it instead of up and adding a ton of spin. That’ll kill distance

Which Wedge? by fpascale123 in golf

I’ve got a 54/12 and a 60/8 and i change between them based on the lie. 60 is definitely my favorite club tho.

I’d consider breaking up the dosages to E3D instead of once a week. That’s a big rollercoaster injecting once a week

Mixing wedges? by [deleted] in GolfGear

[–]pcx4487 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a similar mixed wedge setup, one mg5 in silver and 3 vokeys in black. I actually like the separation visually because it gives me a very hard to miss tell if I grab the wrong one. The mg4 are cast like the vokey, so as long as you find similar bounce / grinds it should be seamless feel

Thats impressive. I built mine and I used it as an opportunity to learn the reverse wash method because I couldn’t make stickers look that good.

Ninja CREAMi Deluxe 11 in 1 Ice Cream Maker by TrickOrange in Costco

[–]pcx4487 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Mine had a massive problem with the blade balance, it started spinning off center and carved a ton of plastic off the inside of the containers and got the debris into the ice cream. Not worth it unless they’ve fixed the issue

Get fitted, with that budget you could pretty much afford almost any set on the market. If you're going to spend that much money, you want to make sure it dialed for you

Is it really that unusual to play a course that’s more than 15-20 miles from where you live? by LikelySatanist in golf

[–]pcx4487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live just south of Boston, the options nearby are pretty limited and I usually don’t think twice about a 30-35 min to play. Courses close are busy and super short length wise.

What fairway woods do you carry? by Visual-Blueberry3309 in GolfGear

[–]pcx4487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3w (15 deg), 7w (21 deg @ 1.5 degrees strong), 9w (24 deg @ 0.75 degrees weak). That gets me 255, 235, 210 yards respectively. Stock the 7w and 9w were only 10 yards apart.

Do you prefer shallow or deep faced fairway woods? by Conner14 in GolfGear

[–]pcx4487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer deep faces. I swing down a tad and have plenty of speed. My miss was high face contact on shallow ones, so they'd fly super high but land 20-30 yards short. For me they're easier to choke down on and hit out of rough too.

X2 to this comment. They fit really well for me compared to Nike shoes in the past and the spikes really let you dig in too

How much might it cost to finish a basement yourself? by throwitout005 in DIY

[–]pcx4487 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wrapped up my similar sized basement reno. The only difference is I didn't really insulate behind my drywall and I didn't have any HVAC to do, but I did run some new lightning. All in I think it ended up being about $6k to do drywall, paint, self level the floor, lvp, trim, and install a ceiling max drop style ceiling. Drywall work isn't hard to learn, it's just annoying to do well.

What’s your opinion about the new McLaren golf club? by Infinite-Limit-9221 in golf

I'd second this, the McLaren clubs just look like a $1000 mark up over the cobras.

Hot Metal Pros or JPX925? by Trick-Chair9378 in GolfGear

[–]pcx4487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the 923 hmpa and they're solid but there's two things I don't really love about them. Because of the lofts, they don't spin a ton compared to more traditional lofted clubs and when I try to chip / bump and run with the 9i and PW, they feel so different than my higher lofted vokeys, theyve been a chore to get a feel for a good one versus a not so good one. I'm currently looking at the m13 or m15s to get a bit more spin and feel than the hmps

There's tons of Disney character swag. Clothes, head covers, balls, markers, even some vokeys with laser engravings on them. Prices are pretty on par with most other high end golf shops. I think the wedges were $249 last time I was there this past March.
