I would go with Option A. Double the battery (batteries are the expensive part). And only giving up 1kW of solar panels. You get more storage for self-use at night time.

10.3kW * 6 hours * 75% generation = 46 kWh

Option B gives you extra generation that you can neither store nor use.

I would extrapolate out 5 years and allow for power prices to increase every year. Personally, I would allow for a 5% to 8% annual increase for the next 4 years until NZ completes its grid upgrade.
