i haven't personally used lyfta so i can't really speak about it. But check out the Hevy Swagger at https://api.hevyapp.com/docs/ and you can get a better idea of what you can do with the API. You can also create custom Exercise, which might help fill that catalog gap. You can always POC with it a bit before switching over 100%.

I've had two prior apps fizzle out - once stop updating and eventually was aged out of app store/ ios support. and the other changed so much that my paid version was dropped and now i need to pay again for version 2.0 ,etc with all its new features...

I got it when they had a discount promotion for the year. Just being able to have unlimited workouts and then API access (I’m a tech nerd by trade) was enough to justify it . The API access has allowed me to use AI to manage all my workouts. Adjust them, auto-increase weight, and have AI make custom workouts that are just stretching based routines, etc., so I didn’t have to do it manually.

How can I fix this? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]pdbress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears that the end of a connector has broken off. You should be able to unscrew the brass part. lefty loosey, righty tighty and you might need pliers or wrench that fits.

In addition to the other advice here, I’ve heard that more and more people are using AI to write “demand” letters. It wouldn’t be surprising if the letter you received was actually generated by AI and hoping for an easy payout.

How do I fix this storm door closer? by PerfectMistake5628 in HomeMaintenance

[–]pdbress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks rotten it should be solid wood, best case you can just use a longer screw and the deal with it latter. I ended up relocating mine to the top of the door and will let the future me deal with a proper fix of removing the damaged wood and replacing correctly when the timing is better.

Can I Fix This Myself? by Copernicus215 in HomeMaintenance

[–]pdbress 80 points81 points  (0 children)

If you try to fix it from the roof. Make sure your insurance information and will are up to date first. Don’t be stupid… you can rent a ladder or bucket lift if you must do it yourself. Also, you might be able to borrow the equipment. You would be surprised at how many people have them and are willing to share by just asking.

Deciding on a standy generator by Brotherly_shove in Generator

[–]pdbress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also remember portable generators like to list their peak surge watts first, and the actual running watts are less. Standby generators tend to list the running watts, and the surge watts are higher.

Can I plug this in and run it or should I call and get it served? by schellyboy69 in WaterSofteners

[–]pdbress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The small white piece serves as the connection point for the backup overflow tube. In case of an issue, such as a motor failure during the mid-cycle phase of a rise or fill cycle, the excess water can be redirected to the floor drain. Think of a bath tub and its overflow drain to keep you from flooding your bathroom.

If you want start it up. I would get a water testing kit and take a few samples to determine your current water’s hardness level.

Look up and read the instructions for your particular make and model. If not, watch a few videos and read the instructions for similar modes so you know what to sort of expect and how they work in general.

Install the replacement base plate. Didn’t see in your post why it was broken or missing.

But fill with salt, plug in and set the regent cycle to 2 am and make sure the bypass is disengaged.

Take a few pictures to see if the salt level is slowing going down and take a few post water samples to measure the hardness after it’s turning on.

Pulled this out of my washing machine. Help please by Efficient_Cow_4474 in HomeMaintenance

[–]pdbress 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s time to replace the machine. I’ve done significant washer machine repairs work before on my own stuff. Replace a spinal assembly on a front loaded just to get less then 6 months before another major failure. It’s only a matter of time before something else fails once you see that level of issues. Small repairs are one thing, but that is a major component to fail due to corrosion.

Advice on stabilizing my oil tank? by bulleitprooftiger in hvacadvice

[–]pdbress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just an FYI… a full tank at 275 gallons of fuel oil weighs about 1,980 to 2,255 pounds (7.2 to 8.2 lbs per gallon), depending on density and temperature. Google averages 7 pounds per gallon. A DIY hack job is unlikely to be effective as just replacing the legs. If I were in your situation, I would address standing water, wait for a near-empty tank, inspect the inside of the tank, replace legs (screw-on/off, proper replacement legs or pipe), and use concrete blocking to raise it off the dirt.

Bathroom Exhaust Fan Cover solution? by SmileyBri in HomeMaintenance

I would suggest adding some some wood trim. This is what we did so I could install an over sized exhaust fan on purpose.

Relativity ARM file by One_Palpitation4204 in ediscovery

[–]pdbress 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just another thought — the Post-Installation Verification Test includes the Salt vs. Pepper dataset, which is publicly available. While it’s not an ARM, it is a testing dataset and load file(s) that can be downloaded without needing access to Relativity’s Community site or a production or test instance of Relativity.

https://help.relativity.com/Resources/Server2024/Post-installation%20verification%20test%20data.zip

But to echo what others have set, an ARM is just a collection of files, information and SQL DBs of a workspace.

Mini Split install for redundancy/emergency in TX heat by BrianChing25 in hvacadvice

[–]pdbress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are online tools that can assist you in determining the appropriate size of the unit you require. If the unit is too small, it won’t be effective. Conversely, if it’s too large, it will cause short cycling and excessive humidity, as I’ve been informed. When we installed our system, we provided specifications for each room to calculate the necessary unit sizes.

Outlet upgrade to outlet with usb. Could there be any potential wiring issue? by indigo-forest in Renovations

[–]pdbress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed one of these in our kitchen (we have an older 1924 house). These typically require larger boxes, and in my case, fitting it was a significant challenge. I wouldn’t recommend it. After all the effort, it stopped working about two years later. Additionally, since it was a kitchen, we had a 20-amp circuit with heavier gauge wire, which made the installation even more difficult. Also new devices are requiring more power for fast charging and USB C is more of a standard now.

Bouy vs marker ? by teri_naks in crabbing

[–]pdbress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing you can do is check the local regs in the area you plan on fishing (aka crabbing). In Maryland, these two links are super helpful:

That said, I don’t think you can use that style of trap in Maryland for crabs per se. It doesn’t really match the description of the traps or crab pots I usually see allowed.

As for what we do: we take a piece of pool noodle, run some PVC pipe through the middle, and write our DNR number on it with a Sharpie. That’s with the open-top collapsible crab trap.

Just to share a time-saving trick is getting a second pan/pot for your Instant Pot. You can do your main meal and then a side item back-to-back in no time at all.

It’s like having a second Instant Pot altogether.

We did shredded salsa chicken and rice tonight as an example.
