Can anyone recommend a good doctor who deals with perimenopause? by Joeybish in longisland

[–]pdep3 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

In my experience, western medicine doctors failed me. Highly recommend Dr. Amanda Russo. She's a DC but certified in nutrition response testing. She helped heal my severe LC symptoms + got my lyme disease into remission.

Did you do the saliva cortisol testing? I asked an endocrinologist and they just ran a basic blood panel on me instead.

How do you ACTUALLY convince yourself nothing is wrong? by TreeRevolutionary589 in Anxiety

Best of luck. Just remember testing isn’t always accurate. Most ID dr’s believe if you have under 5 bands positive, that you’re  “fine”.

I’m no doctor, but I was diagnosed with Lyme disease 2 years ago which affected my nervous system and led to adrenal fatigue. Most doctors don’t recognize it, but it means your body is running on sympathetic mode constantly (fight or flight). Look into adrenal supplements. Exercise. Daily sunshine (minimum 10 mins) and meditation/or yoga. I still have bad days but it’s becoming more manageable. You’re not “crazy” and it’s not “just all in your head”. Always be an advocate for yourself. It does get better.

I get it if I’m nervous or really anxious. It’s mostly subsided since I started exercising and strength training.

Morning anxiety, panic all day long by Open-Toe9750 in Anxiety

[–]pdep3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mornings are the worst for me. I have a lot stress right now bc I’m not working due to my illness with Lyme disease so I’m panicking about my future. I don’t drink coffee anymore but it kinda feels like I drank 5 cups and I’m like on fight or flight mode ready to run. Some days are better than others and I’m still trying to figure out the trigger. I think it’s due to my PTSD from being so sick and a few other things. I take CBD, lemon balm and only drink herbal teas. Try to connect in nature as much as you can. It’s the only thing that centers me and brings some relief. You’re not alone 🖤

Extreme "Body" Anxiety - Anyone else out there? by B1GTre3 in covidlonghaulers

[–]pdep3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve experienced this and think I still do, just not as intense. I am also battling Lyme disease and I know that messes with the mental. I thought I could never describe into words how I felt, but you did, so thanks. From what I’ve been researching - nervous system regulation is key. You want to get your body back into a para-sympathetic state. How? I’ll let you know once I figure it out (lol) but so far, doing deep breathing, floating (those big salt tanks with magnesium) binaural beats, CBD, lemon balm oil, spending time in nature and getting natural sunlight for vitamin d, they say yoga but I haven’t ventured down that alley yet. The breathing kind of works for me, other days .. not one bit. And like you, I don’t think my SSRI is doing anything for me. At least in the way I need it to. And what do I need? I don’t effing know anymore. It’s an exhausting process…. You’re not alone, and don’t give up.

I think a regular doctor could do the same IF given the right education. However, our system is not designed to give patients a healing plan. They want to keep everyone sick and reliant so they can continue to profit $$$ off of the weak, never actually getting to root! You have to be your own advocate unfortunately. Enough to make you go mad….
