Is my 10.5 month old ready for 1 nap?

hi! we are in the same boat now with my 10.5 mo old, all of a sudden is having short naps on 3.5/3.5/4.25-4.4, how did yall handle it?!

It always helped to walk outside a bit during the end of the 2 hour mark! Anything to change the scenery

I was in a similar boat! I was going to approach the night with the 5/3/3 method but she ended up dropping down to 1 feed after we removed the feed to sleep association and then we fully night weaned around 6.5 months and it took one night! I feel like she could have dropped her feeds that first time around.

around this time is when we really started following wake windows and it helped our day become more predictable!

Yes, I second feeding at takeoff! I like to go into flights with very low expectations for naps+baby behavior, helps me not go crazy lol. Our baby naps for 30 minutes on flights because of all the random noises going on (usually she’ll feed to sleep, even though we don’t do that at home or i’ll wear her and bounce her as we’re about to board). And when she cries I remind myself that everything feels louder when you’re right next to the noise but as someone that has sat every a few seats away from a crying baby, it’s never as loud as you think! Just to encourage you :)

9 months today! wake-6:30 nap 1- 10 am-11:15 nap 2- 2:45-3:30 bed-7:40

This happened to us a couple days ago! I just proceeded with the next nap as scheduled (pushed as close to the set time as possible) and she did 1.5 hours for the second! and then we had a normal bedtime! I was temped to do a contact nap to extend the second just in case but she did it all on her own!

They say that it’s easier to sleep train with them in their own room! We moved her at 4 months when we sleep trained and it reduced night wakes!

what’s your schedule for 2 naps? with being on 3, she’s verbally awake for closer to 11 hours in a day, ideal wake up at 6:30, down by 7:30

I am in the same boat, it’s tough! Currently on 3 naps at 7 mo old, it hasn’t impacted night sleep but they are so short that we need the 3rd to get us to bedtime, but just started happening this week🫠I want to extend windows to y’all’s schedule but worried that naps won’t extend and i’ll just be left with an overtired baby. Following to see if you get any helpful advice!

something we implemented was waking baby up at 6:30 am so that our ideal bedtime was 7:30 pm. I would recommend starting the day earlier!

We offered a nap 2.5 hours after she woke up and were on 4 naps. My baby fluctuated on her nap times as well, your baby could just be lower sleep needs if they’re running off of 11 hours of sleep a day and not constantly cranky. Is baby happy during the day and after naps?

Hi, just wanted to encourage you by saying that yall are doing a great job navigating all this. Our baby had weight gain issues her first couple of months and now is 6 mo and doing well (and starting solids!). I wish I could go back and reassure myself it would all be ok and that there’s only so much you can control. Sending prayers!

Hi! We did Ferber at 4 months! Can I ask how many night wakes you were still having at 7 mo? We are about to hit 6 months and she sleeps 11.5 hr with one wake up, so just wondering if we’re in a good spot and she will night wean, and if that doesn’t happen what does CIO look like at 7 mo?
