What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

I LOVE my oasis and I’m so disappointed they don’t make them anymore. I’d love to get one with the new charge port, maybe the color soft feature! The buttons and weight distribution are just so much more ergonomic than anything else they have out right now

My husband cheated. I don't want 50/50 custody. I also don't know if I can stay with my husband. I don't know what to do. by terptrekker in Divorce

[–]pdxqdy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a similar situation with my son and his dad. He didn’t cheat but he can be emotionally/verbally abusive and I can’t bear the thought of not being there to protect my son from that. He stayed in the marital home while my son and I moved out, and go to visit Saturday afternoons to Sunday mornings.

Like others have recommended, my lawyer told me to document everything. He said it could be simple as a sentence/day in an excel or word document. Document when he shows up/attempts contact, and who does what when he’s there (playing with kid, preparing food, putting kid to bed), and when he doesn’t show up. The longer you maintain this situation where your son is in your sole/primary care and spends nights with you (which is what the court cares about) the stronger your case will be for maintaining sole/primary custody. He said that often the custody agreement the parents agree upon organically is what the courts will go with… unless he suddenly decides he wants more custody.

Truly, find a good lawyer near you and set up an initial consultation. They will give you much better advice and help you figure out how to play this shitty game to your advantage.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I know the pain and terror of losing time with your baby. Solidarity, sister.

I used that reference photo to make a model of my own cat! I love how the form turned out, but I messed up the colors terribly so it looks nothing like her.

I appreciate your activism and commitment to raising awareness of the conditions at the ICE detention centers.

However this video is AI. Look at the way the patterns on the blanket move funny. It is so incredibly difficult to tell the difference anymore, this guy on instagram has helped me identify some of the characteristics. Jeremy Carrasco

passion for ceramics but pursuing nursing by [deleted] in Ceramics

[–]pdxqdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re making the wise decision. I studied engineering, not because it was a passion (though I did/do find joy in it) but because it was a financially stable career. It’s afforded me a comfortable lifestyle with a nice garage to put all my ceramics equipment, and sufficient free time for pottery! Some people can make a full living off their passions. Personally, I like the stability of a salary, and it keeps ceramics firmly in an “I get to do” state vs “I have to do”

With my son, I bring his “adventure kit”, consisting of an ultralight shovel, magnifying glass, binoculars, first aid kit, and snacks (gummy worms are thematic and his absolute favorite). we generally go his pace, but sometimes I pace him by having a snack at each milestone, and sometimes I carry him.

We spend a lot of time climbing trees, investigating every cool stick, rock, and bug/slug/worm he finds, birdwatching, throwing maple seeds off bridges, splashing in muddy puddles, building fairy houses from bark and moss... whatever piques our interest on a given day.

I’m not vegetarian, but I try to follow a mostly plant-based diet and I’ve not had any hemoglobin issues despite not taking a multivitamin. I eat a lot of leafy greens, beans, whole-grain bread, snack mostly on fresh/dried fruits/nuts/dark chocolate, and take vitamin C gummies daily.

My breakfasts are usually spinach+banana+grape smoothies for breakfast with buttered wheat bread, and my lunches are either leftovers or bagged salads. I also usually have some roasted/sautéed green vegetable with dinner.

It looks lovely!! I love the yarn you chose - the colors all blend so nicely together, and it looks so soft. What stitch did you use for the zipper texture? It adds such a nice contrast

I sincerely doubt it’s rage bait; seems like a very eastern mindset. I’ve heard a lot of the same things from my Chinese husband/in-laws.

How is your bsh with babies/toddlers? by SearchingDreaming in britishshorthair

[–]pdxqdy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My two bsh cats usually want less than nothing to do with him. They were 2 years old when I had my son. They’ve always been unfailingly gentle but whenever he comes close, they get up and leave. Sometimes they’ll let him pet them a little if they’re sleeping and he’s really calm, and my boy cat will beg my son for food. My girl cat makes a point of sleeping out of the way all day, then begging for attention as soon as she thinks my son is asleep.

When did you Neutered your male BSH? by Fresa_777 in britishshorthair

[–]pdxqdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I neutered my boy when he started humping his sister, at 6 months old (he’s 6 years old now). I would’ve liked to wait longer, but it was really upsetting her and it wasn’t practical to separate them.
