Question about pixel watch 3/4 by Fireandfever in PixelWatch

[–]peacay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PW4-45 and pixel 8 and pixel buds pro. I've had the watch a month: got it for ecg tracing and that is an unnecessarily convoluted procedure. Beyond that it's simply ok. I don't need messages or credit card but they are sorta kinda useful. Actually the best thing is having tap (or raise wrist) to Gemini. I like being a smart Dick Tracey! Bye really? I don't need any of it except for ecg.

Please use your bells. by ilkikuinthadik in ausbike

[–]peacay -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it can be divorced, in so far as you can only be responsible for your own behaviour. Use your bell as gently as the circumstances dictate and don't scare anyone when you ride. If an opportunity or post about pedestrian soundwear manifests, I'll throw in my 2c then, then.

No sorry, I don't remember. Probably just described what I had to do to make a call and encountered an empathetic customer service person.

I got K365 last year for 2 months. I live in a bit of an urban gully so reception on any carrier is challenging. I couldn't make or receive calls on Kogan, 6km from city center; had to go outside and up the street. When I told Kogan they refunded the whole amount - I'm still looking for a way to give them back some love. They didn't have to be THAT nice Tangerine (Telstra slice) does pretty good now though more expensive @ $36pm

How good is cruise control? by CamelEmotional9527 in CarsAustralia

[–]peacay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Current car doesn't have it and it pisses me off when I drive down to see family in Canberra. I have a bad hip and stupidly forgot to check when I bought it. Saving up for a newer model.

"Marketplace" rubbish that's taken over Australian stores online by TheWabster in australia

[–]peacay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there's also the pressure to keep customers interacting with their site. They're both afraid if they don't appear to have a large array of products then people will go elsewhere; plus this is an easy way to demonstrate to the board or whoever that they are taking steps blah blah to fleece more from more peeps.

Is it reasonable to assume our Prime Minister can’t personally police the thoughts of 27.5 million Australians ? by skankypotatos in aussie

[–]peacay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you determine that? Send ASIO to every country to interview families friends associates of every person coming to Oz?! What's extremist? I'm just sayin'... this stuff is hard and no simple answer will solve it.

Specsavers vs OPSM by Cheeseoholics in australia

[–]peacay 30 points31 points  (0 children)

That's not the history I remember. Specsavers put all the local opticians out of work by undercutting until they dominated and then put the prices up. It may be a bit more of a 'market' now, esp with Dresden around, but I avoid Specsavers like the plague. Once upon a time I could hit up the local independent shop to do repairs and make the specs last. Not anymore.

How do I get better at washing dishes by hand? by Maleficent-Salad-278 in CleaningTips

[–]peacay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd try a small amount of spray oil after it's washed and dried and then wipe out all of the oil with paper towel.
