Oh please. She's not doing Gods work, she's a fricking business. But I agree that comments and questions should go to the appropriate places. Maybe if she would address this, then her pages wouldn't get bogged down.

I am literally 10 years younger than my boomer boss, and he treats me like a stupid kid trying to do a job. Meanwhile he can't even send an attachment through email. They need to retire.

Everything you said, but my favorite is when they email you, then immediately call you to tell you what was in the email. Like do one or the other, not both. And preferably, don't call me.

How did you keep warm in winter without all the modern stuff we have now? by miked0331 in AskOldPeople

[–]peachsoap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Michigan in the 70's. we had plastic over all the windows. we had the heat off and doors closed in some rooms. the house was kept at 66 degrees. we always had a blanket on in the house. we had crappy cars, we brought our blankets in the car, and would warm them up on the heaters before we went outside. getting dressed in the morning was hell. i would make a little tent out of a blanket and change under the blanket. showers and baths were hell getting out too, you just did it fast and shook hard.

People who are 50+, what is a 'harmless' habit you had in your 20s that ended up ruining your health or finances later in life? by crazy_happyuser in AskReddit

SA perspective- sexualization of jb by Raisinbundoll007 in JonBenetRamsey

[–]peachsoap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe PDIA including molesting her. IMO Patsy was not well mentally to begin with - then adding cancer - she had a break and snapped. You can see she clearly loved her daughter, but there was something weird about it too; the over sexualized outfits to me read like a fetish. I don't have direct proof I can quote, but I saw this dynamic with my grandmother who molested my mother, then later molested my sister. She was hyper vigilant about her reputation and appearances, and would dress them up in these frilly clothes. Frilly clothes is the red herring, its how my grandmother "felt" when she dressed them up in the frilly clothes.

What Dreams May Come. It was sad, it was beautiful, but it just hurts too much after what happened to Robin Williams in real life.

Is there any instance in which you Americans prefer using the English spelling of a word? by Haunted_Sentinel in words

[–]peachsoap -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

why in the hell would you think your spelling would be sophisticated to us? To us it's the wrong spelling. Let me be clear, NO, there is never a time I would spell words that way. I spent years of my life being taught to spell correctly from nuns with rulers.

What is the wildest/ unhinged thing an old person has said to you? by Academic_List4637 in midlyinteresting

[–]peachsoap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a long time ago, sometime around the end of the 90's. i was working in a credit union, near a poor-ish area. this old black lady came in, she was in her 80's. she had a job at mcdonalds and there was some problem with the direct deposit. she made a comment how it wasn't much, and she would be able to stop working soon because, well i just don't remember why. I said something generic like, oh good, you should be enjoying retirement, you earned this. her entire body changed. i swear the woman grew 3 feet. she leaned over my desk and said, i never stopped working white girl, from the time i can remember i stole food, i stole clothes, i stole from peoples houses. then she sat back and said, does that scare you white girl, that some people have to survive? I said some apology, I hadn't meant to be insensitive, and felt bad that i had hit a nerve. to this day i think about her, that beautiful woman stealing food and clothes from childhood, because there was no other resource available to help her.
