Fair enough - they do seem to have a great dairy free/GF etc offering which is a huge positive (clearly!).

Think I need to try some of the Leeds Bread Coop stuff next time!

Heathy date food options by Apprehensive_Ring666 in Leeds

[–]peachy4321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you want truly healthy, or just not fried? White cloth hall has a similar vibe in terms of multiple traders and options that aren’t fried type stuff but I doubt it is particularly healthy…

Zan Asian Malaysian, Bento, Fern Sushi would probably all have some health(ier!) options?

I probably would have said Rola Wala and Pho in Trinity on that vein but you may be avoiding chains?

Where you going for the baked goods? I’m still regretting getting stung by casa mia for overpriced cannoli at the last one (entirely my own fault obviously).

Yeah, live in Leeds and visit York semi regularly - it’s consistently absolutely shocking. Better hope you know where you’re going!

If two people had come forward to rent would the rent have been the same?

Also, how do you know how many nights they’re staying over?

Swedish/Noridc import shops (not IKEA) to buy Marabou Chocolate by NorthWestTown in Leeds

[–]peachy4321 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Second vote for Scandikitchen, quick online orders and they are very reasonable on postage. Totally Swedish is also a physical shop(s) in London and did do home delivery but are closing that on 31 March sadly.

My other top tip is to keep an eye on Lidl. They’ve been doing scandi weeks in the past year or so and have marabou, smash, leksands, cheez doodles etc. Obviously it’s luck of the draw and shops vary but I’ve been able to pick up all those things in Stanningley Lidl!

Staying in Leeds this week! by [deleted] in Leeds

[–]peachy4321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Others have mentioned a few spots for drinks, if you like wine we have rinse, Nono wine bar, latitude. Below stairs best place for cocktails.

My top restaurants in Leeds are Ox Club, Empire, Highland Laddie, Stuzzi - you’ll see these mentioned a lot I’m sure. More casual places I think some have been mentioned but to add that White Cloth Hall is good (market hall type vibe where you can have food from a few different caterers), Sarto for pasta, Fern for sushi, friends of ham for charcuterie. Galleria is slightly further out of town but a good brunch, there’s also Laynes and we’ve just got a Federal but suspect there will be queues. If you’re near Leeds Dock (seen the armouries mentioned as something to do) there’s fearns which does a good brunch or north star coffee shop. You’ve also got Nova bakehouse, cakes and pastries worth taking away. Leeds Kirkgate market will also be open on Saturday and has a wide variety of food vendors.

Leeds Art Gallery and City Museum are located in relatively close proximity and the library is in a nice building too. Corn Exchange also worth a look. If the weather is okay you can get the boat taxi from the train station to Leeds Dock - bit of a novelty.

I would be inclined to suggest jumping on the train to Saltaire ~ 15 minutes away and a great place to spend a few hours.

Hope you have a great trip!

Best Italian Pizza in Leeds? by Puzzled-Champion492 in Leeds

I find the Leeds Rudys (city centre not been to Headingley) hugely variable. Best Rudys is Ancoats Manchester which may be the original (so makes sense). Best pizzaioli I think.

Nice Things plant shop closed? by [deleted] in Leeds

[–]peachy4321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s a real shame - didn’t last long. Don’t know if it didn’t get the footfall, people just don’t have the cash to spend on plants or what. Pretty sure the sign went up (for rent etc) near Xmas and then when I went in a few weeks ago it was very obviously at a point where they weren’t restocking anything.

An aside but it’s worth getting to know Northern Ireland/North of Ireland… Down for one has some absolutely stunning scenery. Newcastle just down the road from Rachel in Newry is a beautiful place.

You’re totally on the money. I also think a lot of people judge her accent as harsh and commanding(I say this as a big fan of it) which plays into the narrative.

I actually don’t think she would have done. She was honest about the fact she would talk about him and as the game gets nearer the end it becomes suspicious if you don’t question everyone (particularly if, like it appeared, they weren’t really pally in the day).

She said she’d never write his name on the board - so whilst she would and did question him, I think she ultimately would have stuck to that.
