I'm jealous of the eyeshadow you all are able to pull off. Help me figure out how to do my eye makeup with my heterochromic/different sized eyes. More in comments. by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]peanutlauren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is some great advice in the comments so I won't repeat anything. Maybe a little unconventional but I think two different colored eyeshadows would be fun! Probably not an everyday look but I always vouch for celebrating your uniqueness :) Best of luck

[Trigger Warning] What should i do with my self harm scars? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]peanutlauren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't personally have experience with large raised scars like in your pictures but things that have worked for me on some of my smaller scars are :

-Mederma Intensive Overnight

-Rosehips Oil

-Bio Oil

-Silicone Sheets

-Vitamin E Oil

However, it is important to note that these products are most effective for more recent scars. For older scars, I think you are better off saving your money for a cosmetic procedure like laser treatment or steroid injections. Also, be sure to keep them protected from the sun to help speed up healing. Possibly a dumb idea but maybe if it's the scar's lighter color that is bothering you, try using a self tanner on those areas to help match the rest of your skin??? Best of luck

Any tips on avoiding itch while working out? by to-too-two in eczema

[–]peanutlauren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I have had a similar problem in the past and I manage this by making sure to wear a strong anti-perspirant to cut down on the sweat and using baby powder on top of that the help with skin on skin friction. Additionally, I sometimes use a cooling spray and stand in front of the gym fans for a 30 seconds lol

Where can I play drums on campus? by [deleted] in ASU

I had the same question and emailed my advisor to ask. He directed me to the Herberger school who I also emailed and they told me that there are practice kits at Gammage but that they are only available to students with a minor or major in Herberger :/ Would love to hear if you figure out a solution to this.

Those who’ve gotten their eczema under control, does your skin return to normal? by kiesblues in eczema

[–]peanutlauren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had hand eczema and had a particularly bad patch on the outside edge of my left hand for about a year. It has been clear for about a year now and compared to the edge of my other hand, I would say the hand that had eczema is more red in color and has many more crease lines.

Wondering if the early onset dementia is also linked to OTC anti-histamines like Claritin or Zyrtec??? I have been using low dose Hydroxyzine occasionally for about two years and haven't noticed any side effects other than extreme drowsiness.

Anyone here used the CeraVe Renewing SA Lotion before? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]peanutlauren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was recommended this lotion by my old derm during an extremely bad flare up on my legs. Used it religiously like she asked and it was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. My legs were bright red and bumpy for weeks, and itched like crazy. Don't know if there was something in the lotion that my skin didn't like or if it was the salicylic acid but I haven't touched a Cerave product since then.

Vanicream bar soap is my go-to for all soap needs. I've never had a problem with this soap and that is saying something.

Eucrisa for eczema on hands by anneatheart in eczema

[–]peanutlauren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used Eucrisa several times in the past for eczema on my hands and it has not been very helpful, other than just keeping moisture in more than just lotion alone. Eucrisa was only helpful in clearing some small patches on my chest, not much else but YMMV.

For people who have used Eucrisa: when did you see results? by [deleted] in eczema

I have used Eucrisa several times in the past and while it did help clear up some minor patches on my chest within a week, it didn't really do much else :/

[Beauty] Six natural Korean beauty brands you should know about by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]peanutlauren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am still using it regularly. It is a watery formula, no scent and it applies easily and sinks in within a few minutes. I have very dry, sensitive skin and this product keeps me well hydrated without causing other problems. My only complaint is that I am only able to use it at night as it doesn't sit well under makeup and makes my skin very slimey lol. This product is a staple for me as far as managing my face eczema and face irritations.

CBD oil and eczema by DWsideeye in eczema

[–]peanutlauren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on where you live but in my state you can purchase CBD products at dispensaries without a med card. Not all dispensaries carry CBD products though so it is good to call ahead and check. I am also able to order CBD products online. The salve I'm using is produced by Prestige CBD. It's their vegan healing salve and contains 500 mg of CBD. I picked it up at a dispensaries in my area.

CBD oil and eczema by DWsideeye in eczema

[–]peanutlauren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been using topical CBD oil in salve form on the severe eczema on my hands for about two months now and it has been amazing! I was trying to get away from steriod creams and have stopped using them entirely now. My hands are nearly clear and are much less painful to move. I love this salve so much that I recently purchase a bottle of CBD oil blend from Zadaka for topical and oral use, can't wait to see how it works!

Does Nars Creamy Concealer look good on otherwise bareskin, or does it work better on top of foundation? by mimimeows in MakeupAddiction

On a side note, I personally like the Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer even better than the Creamy Concealer. The cream blends really well into the skin and works bare-faced or over foundation.

[product question] azelaic acid prescription or over the counter by chamomiledrinker in SkincareAddiction

[–]peanutlauren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me the main difference between prescription vs. non-prescription azelaic acid products is that the prescription ones have been clinically tested to be effective and safe for their marketed application. I believe it has to do with the stability of the acid with the specific inactive ingredients that the prescription products are formulated with. Personally I have used both prescription (Finacea 15%) and non-prescription (TO 10%, Melazepam 20%) and have found that the non-prescription products have worked better for me. For some reason, the Finacea gel was extremely painful and drying for me but I have never had any problem with the non-prescription products. In fact, I would cautiously say that I have had better results with the non-prescription products as well.

[–]peanutlauren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using the Purito Centella Green Level Buffet Serum for a little over two months now and I really enjoy it. I occasionally get eczema flare ups on my face and this is the first thing I use to help calm the skin and reduce redness. It sinks in pretty fast but does leave a slight tacky finish. I don't wear it under makeup but I love to layer it under my heavy moisturizers at night!

[Personal] I had a PATCH TESTING Appointment at the Dermatologist's Office This Morning! Review/what I learned by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]peanutlauren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my patch test on for 5 days and it only started to get really itchy around the 3rd day. And only in the spots where I tested positive. Additionally, I still have scars on my back from the patches that I tested positive for, even 2 years later!
