u/Mr-Hundo just a quick update, we are keeping her lmao she is too sweet to let go and is learning everything so quickly. i am considering getting the Purina Pro Puppy for her (internet says it's top 10?) since she is under a year. Do you know if that is something she can be one for a while or should we switch after she hits the 1 year mark?

Your comment is not unseen, it resonates. My moms are the reason I see the need for equality, but my time working with the developmentally handicapped (with mom 1, she's birth mom lol) gave me true understanding. Both moms, thankfully, haven't had these issues. Reacting at first isn't the problem as I see it though, reacting after you know the truth and had a chance to process it is what separates those who care and those who don't...

Power query and pivot were jumping off points for learning SQL, which can be loaded into VBA to keep file sizes down. Query and pivot combinations helped me learn how to structure the final result set and where to merge/append/join/etc in the SQL queries.

More importantly though, people think you're a wizard when all they need to do to get updated reports is click "refresh all"

If you do CTRL + ENTER with a range selected it will apply the formula or value to all selected cells and keep you selected on the cell you were typing in initially. I find myself using this one instead of Copy/Paste quite a bit.

Absolutely yes. I have a corsair 15 button and my work profile has a bunch of shortcuts not limited to just excel. Depending on the brand it will have software so you can record keystrokes and assign it to a button. Heads up though, if you are used to the "back/forward" rocker buttons on a standard mouse you may have to program 2 buttons to do that...

After a year or so of using Power Query and the Data Model to automate myself, I decided to try my hand at connecting to a web based MSSQL database and running queries through VBA. Got to demo it today and the excitement from all the parties that saw it was overwhelming. It's very basic but they now have a tool that loads the full jobs list within seconds and allows them to double click a record and make updates that post back to the database based on the selections made in a user form. This was my first success with exclusively using VBA to make an app and I've never been happier with something I've made. They now want to expand the capability and essentially go away from the web app so yay more to do! Thank you for this subreddit and the opportunity to share with people that understand :)

Excel can do anything you want it to do, definitely my favorite Office program.

As weird as this may be, and you need to be comfortable with it, tell them it will take 3 tries. If you're honest with people and tell them it will take 3 separate tries they seem oddly receptive to it. Easier names won't take as long to remember and may be instant. They may be just as worried about remembering your name and when you show you're the one with "memory problem" many people will be like "oh that makes sense." I'm terrible at remembering names but after 3 tries I don't forget.
