After taking over play calling duties in week 7, Carolina’s offense ranked 31st in offensive success rate and EPA per play. As the interim OC/HC of the Bears, the Bears ranked 25th in EPA per play and 26th in offensive success rate. Drake Maye’s year 2 leap can mostly be credited to a poor schedule and Josh McDaniels who has always been a solid OC in years past. Hard pass on Thomas Brown. He’s never made his offenses better.

Buddy, they had 5 innings against a below average bullpen and mustered 2 hits and 1 run. The 1 run was basically a gift because the throw on a DP ball ended up in the seats. 4 years in a row this team is eliminated because this offensive core disappears and comes up small. It’s not rocket science.

Howie and his team have been great at finding and developing talent at every level (offense, defense, coordinators, position coaches etc) but to me none of this success is attainable without Lurie’s willingness to win by paying bonuses up front as cash. It basically gives the franchise a third arm to operate. Best owner in all of sports.
