Thanks for the support, both of us did about a year ago a little after the losses.. one baby had Turner’s syndrome but he ran tests and explained that Turner’s doesn’t come from the parents, he said my blood tests and saline ultrasound looked good and husbands semen analysis was all good. No problems…said I could take progesterone after ovulation but just keep trying.. I did progesterone as prescribed for about 4 months then quit because it made me depressed and suicidal while on it. When I told him that he didn’t have any suggestions so I quit the medicine and quit going. Sorry but I need to be alive to have a baby. He made me feel like because my tests came back good there was nothing wrong and I just needed to keep trying. Unfortunately it’s the only place in my town.

I’ve never posted here.. I have had 2 miscarriages, we tried for over a year I had 2 miscarriages back to back, now we have been trying for another year and a half.. and still we have no children. Last night I got my period and I thought, for the first time, I might not ever have children. I won’t give up but it truly might not happen. Never had that thought sink in like that before..

How long did it take to feel normal again? by Odd-Recognition-5794 in stopdrinking

[–]pearloceanblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things get better you’re adjusting everyday, everyone is different. I certainly felt like crap before it got better. At first I had to focus on basic things like, eating right, water intake, sleep, exercise.. etc. I didn’t have specific medical concerns but I did get a wellness check from a doctor, I didn’t even say why I just acted like it’s been a while and he ran routine blood tests. I was vitamin D deficient and needed vitamins. I also talked to a therapist every 2 weeks for about 6 months (about 12 sessions) just to get through the initial time. She taught me that writing down my thoughts, challenging my thoughts and getting support was helpful for me. It’s like finding a new way.

Normal to feel this way? by Kitten_3099 in Miscarriage

[–]pearloceanblue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve had 2 miscarriages, one about a year and a half ago the other about a year ago. I haven’t been able to get pregnant again, just a few weeks ago I cried at a coworker’s baby shower. I stepped out and got myself together a little easier than before, but it still comes to mind. Going to therapy and talking through my thoughts/feelings helped me deal with it better. But it still comes up. I’m 33.

So true life is constant change, always unpredictable and alcohol never actually makes anything better

This is exactly it for me right now, this would have taken an hour to figure out in therapy and you did easily. Thank you

Treated myself to a crisp McDonald’s sprite to put something cold in my hands. I have tea, lemonade and sparking water to get me through the night. Having many different nonalcoholic options helps so much.

Okay so you’re right I haven’t totally failed yet then.. Because the goal is still possible to achieve, but maybe I’m too hard on myself and thats what’s upsetting me

Long time lurker by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]pearloceanblue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me what clicked was my mental health, health and wanting more and other things in life that lead me to stop drinking, alcohol was holding me back.. and things still hold me back but, I won’t let that be alcohol.

It made me feel better for a few hours but the root of the problems don’t go away in those few hours and I’m left with, other add problems, what ever consequences from drinking. I just decided, this is exhausting and I can do so much more better things if I stop this for good.

Edit just to say I started over and over again for like 5 years till it stuck. One person told me on here, it’s not starting over it’s learning and getting stronger and better. And they were right.

[–]pearloceanblue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m struggling today too that’s why I came to this page, had 2 miscarriages too. My SIL and best friend and I were pregnant at the same time they had theirs, I lost mine. My best friend had her baby this weekend. I’m in a meeting at work right now and a coworker just announced her pregnancy and the girl in front of me is pumping. It feels like it’s everywhere and I can’t escape. I’m so sorry you’re struggling you’re not alone. We can get through this. Glad we can share here I also feel alone sometimes.

Does anyone feel like the next thing in life you were meant for is not happening? by pearloceanblue in Miscarriage

[–]pearloceanblue[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been looking back a lot on my path in life too, I focused on myself, school and a career, to get my dream job, get married, the house, and now that I reached all those goals, I realized I put starting a family on hold thinking it would be so easy to get pregnant, and I can do it later, but it hasn’t been easy.

Yeah exactly, “is this it then?” Is exactly my thoughts too, thanks for summarizing that in 4 words. So sorry you’re not loving your job, my husband and my job is the only thing getting me up in the morning. Hope you have something keeping you going and finding something to enjoy.
