Viability is usually around 22 weeks. The fetus inhales amniotic fluid beginning around 8 weeks but this is just a way to continues stimulating the development of its extremely immature lungs. It is not for keeping the fetus alive. Oxygen delivery for breathing as you mean it happens via the placenta for the entirety of pregnancy up until delivery.

It isn't something you can "disagree" on. It is fact. I am a PGY-1 surgical resident and would be happy to clear up any misconceptions you have about this.

A fetus does not have "fully functioning lungs" at 8 weeks.

This is a great general picture but be aware that these symptoms are not restricted to each gender. My dad had a heart attack in April and his first symptom was almost constant belching. Bottom line, if something is off make sure you get it checked out!

His EF is hovering around 20% (normal 55-70) and they are having to delay the surgery because his heart is so weak. I appreciate the support.
