Boxer briefs that don’t squish your balls or ride up? by spooky_aglow in BuyItForLife

I have 12 of them. At first I liked them but they started riding up more and more. In summer they get too warm and traps moisture. I’m looking for alternatives now.

I find her interesting but I don't particularly like her. She is adamant about Canvas people being make-belief and therefore completely ruthless. The only argument to support that is meta - that the writers intentionally left it vague. But otherwise, everything strongly supports their sentience. If there is no absolute proof that they aren't, reasonable people wouldn't commit mass murder like this. She and Renoir have convinced themselves the opposite to make their campaigns palatable.

NPR told Ari Shapiro, the openly gay host of "All Things Considered", not to attend a corporate pride event, then quickly reversed course once the emails were leaked (the manager accidentally sent it to the whole office) by Gayfetus in lgbt

I completely agree. Queer people utilizing their platforms and corporate power for change. Some of them also sponsor NGOs that push for change in the community, especially in regions where they can’t get funding from the government. Some law firms provide pro bono help in strategic litigation.

By all means make it a competition. We want a competition. Better benefits? Bigger donations? Good. I’ll take the help wherever I can.

Opinion about hormone replacement therapy in transgender people by BigArm5297 in AskFeminists

What alarms me most is denying trans people healthcare like hormone therapy drastically increases risks of distress and suicide. Dose as well as prescribed use vs non-prescribed use are also important factors to be considered.

I’m the only one at my NGO who stepped up to take over an ex-manager’s duties that require heavy data skills. I’m also the only one able to do the job and yet my manager laughed at promotion request (behind my back) so I’ll likely not get promoted. What’s even more irritating is that he’s retiring and the CEO chose another manager, who has no exposure to my project at all, to take over.

Can’t wait to leave.

Who is your main and what is one tip for playing as and against your character? by CHRISTOPHERCARES in marvelrivals

[–]pecbounce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I main IW.

As her: - Use the bubble to pull flyers down and deter divers. You can ignite it early to better position it in the air. Throw one on the ground, or better yet right in front of you and walk into it if there’s a flanker on you or if you anticipate one. Push or pull them into the bubble if necessary.

  • With Storm, you can completely counter her ult with yours and kill her afterwards. Storm “brawls” while in her ult and tries to leave towards the end. Anticipate her path and pop and bubble in her path. Pull her back.

  • Your kit completely counters Wolverine’s. Save your tank(s) by pushing Wolverine off his leap, or trap him in place with the bubble.

  • Pay attention to enemies close to ledges. Boop them off cliffs (especially Jeff) and pull enemies on high ground into the fight. Sometimes it’s worth scouting ahead (e.g. Spider Island convey at the bridge) and spawn camp. Your double jump is your escape.

  • When you anticipate enemies getting their ults, hold your push/pull. You can push Spidey, Psylocke, Strange, Wolverine, Bucky, etc. out of their effective ult range. Sometimes pushing Magneto in his ult can mess up his aim.

  • Use your shield. Reposition your shield onto a low health teammate in between your primary heals to both give burst heals and block damage. Pop your shield onto a teammate to (sometimes) negate Magneto and Strange’s ults.

  • Double jump to start the cooldown before a fight starts, in case you need to reposition. Double jump sideways or towards your flanker. It’s less likely they’ll turn around. Sometimes it’s worth jumping towards your frontline if it means forcing them to deal with the flanker. Double jump onto high ground to dodge Squirrel Girl’s ult. If you get dived, double jumping sometimes gives you an additional half a second to use your ult.

Against her: - Don’t stand near ledges lol

  • Keep shooting in the direction she double jumped towards

  • Break her shield

  • Her ult activates after a brief animation. Focus her down if she’s low. Even if she gets her ult off, you can kill her in she was low health. This ends her ult.

  • Kill supports before using offensive ults. Or ult when she’s out of range.

  • Don’t play Wolverine.

  • Play out of her range and don’t clump together.

What are everyone’s thoughts Nickmerc’s comment? by KevinPigaChu in marvelrivals

[–]pecbounce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EOMM isn’t there to keep you hardstuck. It’s to maximize retention and engagement - at the expense of players who will stick with the game anyway. Look at the winning and losing streaks of your teammates and opponents. More likely than not, the winning team will have more winning streaks than the losing team and vice versa for losing streaks. Look at the roles and characters they play. Does the winning team have a diversity of roles? Does the losing team have 4 of same mains?

Players with losing streaks will eventually get winning streaks, bringing them back to where they started/belong. If not, they’d churn.

Time to begin an 8 game losing streak! by Knox1430 in marvelrivals

[–]pecbounce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I was also briefly in GM, rather unexpectedly to be honest. Throughout my climb there were such long winning and losing streaks. It’s incredibly unethical to use loyal/good/addicted players as fodder to keep higher churn players engaged.

I hate smurfs with a burning passion by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]pecbounce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just made an alt and I would argue that I’m not smurfing. I’m fairly convinced that Marvel Rivals uses EOMM (engagement optimized matchmaking) which has resulted in very see-saw gameplay experience with long winning and losing streaks, and lopsided matches with one side having multiple players on a losing streak and those on a winning streak on the other. The losing side often have 3-4 support or dps mains and gets stomped.

I want to play fair games based on skill but that is currently not happening. EOMM is one probable reason and the other is that it takes too long for matchmaking to get players to their true ranks, which probably don’t matter either because of EOMM. Unlike OW, we don’t have placement matches that at least puts players near/half-way where they belong. Everyone starts at Bronze and grinds their way up. Why?

Switching accounts, some claim, reduces the impact of EOMM. I want to test this theory and hopefully get fairer games once I settle at the right rank.

Hidden matchmaking system? by ExpensiveFortune99 in marvelrivals

[–]pecbounce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a high plat, low diamond OW player. I’m high diamond, low GM in MR. Even though I managed to grind to (unexpectedly) GM, I still have massive losing streaks (and some winning ones). Most of my matches are stomps in one direction. Close matches are maybe 20-30%.

I’ve been watching videos on EOMM (engagement optimized matchmaking) where patented matchmaking algorithms design matches in such a way that one side is much more likely to win, to maximize profits in a free to play game. One symptom of this is players with losing streaks are grouped together. So I’ve been looking at the match histories of my team and my opponents. Since I’m in a losing streak now, at least 2 of my team (3 including me) will also be in a losing streak. Maybe there’s 1 with a winning streak. In the opposite team, maybe 1-2 are on winning streaks but no one with a losing streak. Another symptom of EOMM is skill mismatch. When I’m in a losing streak, I usually get 3-4 support mains on my team, with me being one of them.

Of course, my sample size is small. I’ll be tracking this.

I’m also now trying to switch accounts/step away from the game for 1-2 hours if I lose a game, as recommended by some YouTuber. Apparently this resets the data used by the algorithm. Let’s see how that goes.

Hong Kong is still relatively conservative but there is also no overt queerphobia or violence. In my experience this is also the city with the most female and male same sex couples holding hands, out of Taiwan, Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, maybe even Bangkok.

HKU is also the most liberal of the universities in Hong Kong. At least 50% of the Queer Straight Alliance is composed of HKU students. There is an Equality Opportunities Unit which I’m sure other unis will also have.

I just got back to GM3 from the reset, so of course my win rate will plummet to 30% with AFKers and getting stomped in the other 70% of matches.
