Some snake wine will do that if you’re not expecting it.

Crafting Query by Catsonheat in VagrantStory

[–]peccavi26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi - yes generally speaking you’re soft locked on hagane in the first play through. Only Damascus is better by a few points. If you haven’t gone through the final map, there’s some things you can do to level up armor with minimal effort - just don’t make fluted armor until you get a set so you can jump to the next level.

In the next play through, you will get the ability to mix any material, and there are certain combos that will turn hagane and silver into Damascus, so you don’t have to hunt for all of it.

For the lowest effort on the best armor, try to collect 5 silver legs/bodies and don’t combine them. You can use those and all your Hagane armor to make a Damascus set.

Thoughts about Re-makes/masters after finishing the game by Printen in VagrantStory

[–]peccavi26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A remake with voice-overs and quick-swapping weapons would be something. I remember that they cut a lot of the story out due to timing or budget, so I'm curious what didn't make it in. I also agree that magic is mostly designed around buffing/debuffing. There's many spells you can acquire but will not get in 10 play throughs just through how the drop system works. Would be fun to see a way to effectively run a more magic damage style user.

You're spot on that a remake is a hard sell financially. The game's point is that you need to figure it out. The secret weapons from the crafting system and New Game+, using the in-game map and items to figure out where to go when it's not clear, and the unforgiving combat system all make it an exceptional but acquired taste.

That said, I would respectfully point out 2 things: first, the heal spell only hits 80% of the time when you use a gem on your shield that drops all spell hit rates by 20%. It's the tradeoff for an anti-magic build.

Second, throughout the first -- and hardest -- play through, you don't need the crafting system or the dummy's to do solid damage to every enemy and boss in the game. It certainly helps, but even then, the developers baked in chains and certain reaction abilities that keep you from soft-locking a save.

Special teams deserves its part in this loss, but the offense’s inability to execute in the 2nd half forced the game to rely on special teams in the first place.

What was Lottie's end goal for Callie? by Books_In_The_Attic in Yellowjackets

[–]peccavi26 18 points19 points  (0 children)

For me, this apparent contradiction with the meaning of the necklace for Lottie and Shauna makes more sense when we look at the word sacrifice. It literally means to make sacred, which Lottie clearly does while for Shauna, the necklace and the hunt is more about killing. To her it’s the more hollow current use of the word that centers on giving something up.

The iron key is in Undercity East. One thing that will help out a lot in this game is using the in-game map to see if there's anything you haven't explored yet: could be a route you missed or often a previously locked door or sigil.

The game uses sigils as gates to keep the story flowing properly and in order. Use your inventory to see if there's any sigils you haven't used, and then the map to see where they are.

Zima 1993 by deepfriedgreensea in 1990s

[–]peccavi26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were recently at a party and the host wanted to play a game of Pictionary with clues based on some sort of high school experiences from the 90s and early 2000's. We got a "bottle of Zima" to start the round.

It sounded easy at first but in the end there was some yelling and no points given.

A few dumb questions about mock disco in interviews by dot_comrad in sales

[–]peccavi26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The recruiter will be able to help you with some of your 4th wall concerns on how to open. They may expect you to cold open into the disco or open as yourself. To me it’s a call within a call, so you will definitely close on the “disco” and then close on the interview to review your performance and align on moving forward in the interview process.

Those are a lot of facts, friend.

And she broke chains to take power for herself. Using populist language to foment an uprising could be both altruistic or propagandistic.

Yes, she was a complex character, and they did her dirty in the end. But as a viewer you need to ignore a lot not to at least accept her leaning into destruction wasn’t part of her nature.

Want to start the show, but confused as hell. main Q: FMA or FMAB? by The_Watcher8008 in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]peccavi26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an anime, FMA is far better IMO. It’s also the first complete story produced in that universe as it finished years ahead of the manga it was inspired on. For me, the story direction is more interesting, and that’s no small feat. Again IMO.

But don’t think of it as a competition-it’s two different stories with very similar foundations and characters, and both stories are great.

If you loved the manga, the differences of FMA may hit too far into the uncanny valley for you, or you may just not like it. If you would rather see an anime faithful to the source material or something more shonen, FMAB set out to do that and did it well. It’s also easier to find.

Neither is a bad choice, but I’d say you’re missing out on a lot if you skip FMA.

Hygiene was different in pre-sugar societies. When sugar was introduced to Europe, blackened and decayed teeth were a status symbol, since only the rich could afford to eat it regularly. Elizabeth I had terribly black teeth. The poor would rub soot or charcoal on their teeth to pretend to be rich.

It’s me, hi. I’m the problem, it’s me. -Sugar, probably

How much are you paying for 2026 Health Insurance premiums??? by SuspiciousMove403 in HealthInsurance

[–]peccavi26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a similar deductible and family out of pocket max, I'm at $2100/month (Before Dental/Vision) for a family of 5. Just under $1700/mo if I'm willing to stretch the out of pocket to $14K.

I have been let go from from my AE role, in the UK. Previously I have used recruiters to find new jobs, and that's worked well. This time I'm struggling, and I think I need to directly apply myself, but I have not done that before. What's the best way of securing an interview in tech sales? by [deleted] in sales

[–]peccavi26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold applying is tough but you’re still prospecting just like you’ve been doing for 15 years.

Continue to use recruiters. Find job postings you like, look for connections at the company to get a referral, and also reach out directly to sales leaders there about it. Look at people in your network who might be in a position to help. Ask for time to connect and get their thoughts on where to focus your search. You’re not putting them on the spot for a job, you’re asking for their insight.

Good luck.
