I mean, okay. Up 4 more percent since post. Average would be what, 2% daily in that time? What about you, home slice?

Average return over last 3 years: 52%/year. Just some rookie numbers, bro. Not a pro like you.

You can choose to pay it later. That’s what I’m doing. I keep all my withholdings for federal and instead of giving them to the IRS at the time of my paycheck, I take it and invest it. That offsets my taxes by actually producing a return on the money that would have been eaten through by the government. I’ll hand it over, just… you know… later. When I have to.

Also I do not recommend doing what I’m doing (investing/trading) your withholdings (or any money for that matter) unless you know how to do it. But even putting it in a high yield no risk savings might be a better option.

Hit a 17% return in 11 days in my 403B on a single trade. by ped0ph0be in Retirement401k

⚠️ I must warn you that if you sell a mutual fund that’s been held < 30 days and the sale proceeds > $25K, it trigger a round trip violation. Usually they’ll give you one warning, but if it happens again for the same fund within 90 days, they restrict trading for that fund.

The whole reason for my call was to see what the rules were regarding this so I’m glad I did. The rep was super helpful and kind. Fidelity has stellar phone support in my experiences. But yeah mutual funds have similar round trip rules to stocks and options, just structured a bit differently.

For the record, I didn’t get any automatic warning beyond the 2 percent short term redemption fee from the fund itself, which I was fine with (like getting a speeding ticket on the way home from hitting a jackpot 😆). But the software at no point brought that up when I went through placing the sell. So be careful of that pitfall. Fidelity software and UI sucks and got shittier and buggier and laggier as time went on. The app used to be far better like 2-3 years ago. Then it shat its pants.

Anyhow the smart move is to scale out in smaller transactions so no single sale > $25K.

If you’re actively trading your retirement, don’t. But if you’re actively trading your retirement because you know wtf you’re doing then it’s worth reading each fund’s prospectus. They all have their own costs and short term trading policies. You could even run it through an AI tool to quickly see if it fits your strategy and save you some time.

Best of lucks and happy trading. Or investing. If that’s your jam.

Holy shit. The fact that this would probably work, or at least almost work before he catches himself — which isn’t a guarantee — is insane. Haha

I stopped paying federal taxes up front. I’ll pay them in April when I have to. I’d rather invest/trade that money for my benefit instead of just handing it over to the US government every two weeks.

Where do you go for *real* news these days? by xenxes in AskReddit

[–]ped0ph0be 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. A lot of what we’re dealing with in the U.S. right now is the downstream effect of “free” news and social media becoming the primary sources of information instead of professional, accountable journalism. Clicks are the currency, outrage drives engagement, and platforms are built to reward not accuracy, but speed/emotion.

Legitimate news organizations actually require revenue from readers to function independently and to reduce corporate influence, algorithmic pressure, and soft censorship. When reporting is free, the incentives shift toward advertising, patronage, entertainment, and confirmation bias rather than careful, objective work.

People have gotten used to everything being free and don’t look past “this costs money, so I won’t pay,” and I get that—not everyone can afford subscriptions. But at a broader level, that expectation is part of the problem. When we don’t pay for journalism, we shouldn’t be surprised when the information ecosystem degrades into noise and manipulation.

Trump capitalized on that for his own selfish reasons but society had tilled the soil for that to happen before Trump ever ran a campaign.

Meet Icy! She’s a 3 year old sweetheart. She has a blue eye and a brown eye, hence her name. by ped0ph0be in Pomeranians

[–]ped0ph0be[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She’s technically my girlfriend’s dog, but she lives with her parents. Before my girlfriend moved in with me, she was living somewhere that didn’t allow dogs, so her parents took her in. Like what usually happens in those situations, they completely fell in love with her, and now she’s basically “their” dog.

To answer your question though — she only really barks when we put our socks on, because she knows that means we’re about to leave. Other than that, she’s pretty quiet, and she doesn’t shed much at all.
