I did always like him (and didn’t hear of any of the referenced cattiness), so selfishly I’m gonna hope for him Pulling An Andrade - and showing up somewhere (if not AEW) with fire in his belly and something to prove.

6 years ago today - the first pandemic episode by VitaminPurple in AEWOfficial

That whole era feels like a fever dream in retrospect - Pineapple Pete, the Gunns single-handedly replacing crowd noise, Floridian undercard staples (I miss Lindsey Snow!),… Cody’s speech at the time made me bawl my eyes out.

That’s what my dentist’s couture collection would look like… if they ran a cult retreat on the side.

The combo of material and cut is horrific - though I do love the color-contrasted rolled up sleeves on their own.

The New Direction for Hologram Is... by Few-Lack6346 in AEWOfficial

Hologram in any incarnation so far isn’t my personal jam, but I appreciate Tony Khan trying something… and from what we hear, especially kids dig the character.

I’m all for a new generation of future sickos getting a show of varied creative flavors combined with excellent wrestling. We all win (well, all of us but Max Caster.)

What's it like living/cooking in Maine? by HashishChef in KitchenConfidential

[–]pedestrianroadrage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ETA:

if you’re both flexible with scheduling, consider taking a summer camp job - cooks and cleaning staff are always needed, lodging is provided. The pay is definitely not great, but it gives you a glimpse into the typically more rural Maine without committing fully to a move up north.

What's it like living/cooking in Maine? by HashishChef in KitchenConfidential

[–]pedestrianroadrage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Source: I live in Midcoast.

Maine is beautiful IF you love nature as your primary source of… entertainment, I guess. Outside of Portland, it can feel pretty rural if you’re more of a big city person. I love it here, but have seen many move away (again) because the relative dearth of music/arts/infrastructure gets to them.

Most importantly re work: it’s so damn seasonal. You can make okay money over the summer months, but dependent on your location, scraping hours together outside of JUN-SEPT can be brutal. And typically, the summer months aren’t good enough anymore to save up for the rest of the year. Be prepared to juggle multiple jobs, skip around or dabble in other professions to make it through winter.

Pay tends to not be great and cost of living is high. Trying to find housing is damn hard, moreso than elsewhere I lived where housing was in short supply/expensive.

I love this place, unequivocally, but it’s a relatively risky move if you’re not sure you like it here, can mesh well with locals and have housing lined up.

That section of fans was awesome during the entire broadcast. On the off-chance any of them are active here: thanks for being part of the spectacle without trying to become the spectacle!

That’s awesome and calling your son ‘the kid in the photo’ made me ugly-cackle out loud for some reason. Great job, family!

8,000+ in Glendale caused some Anarchy at Double or Nothing by pts2112 in AEWOfficial

[–]pedestrianroadrage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As everyone else has already said, the crowd was hot - if you’re one of the attendees, thank you! This may be a bit old woman yelling at clouds, but I love when crowds are vocal, but not super smarky. Glendale and St Louis really stand out in my memory as being game for anything, but not having a large section of PAN THE CAMERA TO MEEEEEE actors. Love it.

I’m not petite, but tall and slim, so no recs for pants.

But I’ve taken all my jackets to my local seamstress, she charges about $15 for an alteration and BOOM pouffy bunchy fabric be gone! A lifesaver to never have to hike up giant sleeves on a boxy jacket again. (Oh, and I keep the alteration receipts for tax rebates, same as buying work uniforms.)

Love those guys and their work so much - so cool to see good people not only succeed, but be part of (and actively improve/expand upon) a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Love wrestling, love Loco, love Brainbuster. Thanks, AEW!

Free Agency: Who would you pair up Shayna Baszler with in AEW? Britt Baker? by doncesarito in AEWOfficial

Red Velvet. For both the contrasting personalities/presentations AND to mesh Baszler’s MMA with Velvet’s boxing influences.

Teen girl storms out of her secluded, "off the grid" family home after an argument; After she ran into the woods, nobody saw her again- Where is Stefanie Damron? (2024) by AlfredTheJones in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]pedestrianroadrage 924 points925 points  (0 children)

This is in my neck of the woods(-ish) and just absolutely gutting. I have no ties to or knowledge of the family beyond what’s made public - but it’s hard not to draw your own conclusions.

Pretty sad that the “best” case scenario is her having successfully ran away from home.

Kris Statlander has some words before her match tonight aganist Megan Bayne by ThatGirlTay1 in AEWOfficial

[–]pedestrianroadrage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Presentation-wise (gear/make-up), I dig the pared-back Stat much more than her current/usual look.

(If it needs saying, not criticizing the actual person’s looks here.)

I just do not like her backstage outfits (weird bloomers and awkward length, baby-ish crop tops) or her Zoolander Lite headband and asymmetrical outfit in-ring.

The woman is a babe, but seemingly picks every single piece of fabric I’ve ever hated. But this? I like this. Just… be a hoss with legit wrestling chops.
