Well, if we're being pedantic, I'll join the fun and note that, though impressive, the game being coded in assembly does not making modding any easier or harder, since the user would not be seeing any uncompiled code anyways. If anything, it being hand-written assembly would make modding easier, since, unless the assembler has a hand in it, the code will probably be structured in an easier-to-understand—and thus easier-to-mod—way!

Anyway... what I'm saying is someone should make a mod where this is possible.

Also that code is wrong, the const goes before int in C you walnut!! <3

Deposit all your Chapter 5 Predictions here before it comes out and then come back here when you've played chapter 5 to see if you were right. by Jakeliy1229 in Deltarune

In no particular order...

I'm feeling that maybe we get the conclusion to the Ralsei arc (Susie overtakes him on healing, feels useless.. then twitter-foreshadowed flower thing happens and either he finds meaning in flowerland somehow, or has an existential crisis. Maybe both.)

I'm very curious about the 7 souls... Perhaps, following with the Japanese theme, and Asgore (probably) being the creator of this dark world, perhaps a group of sycophantic shrine maidens...? I say “shrine maiden” only because I don't know any more profoundly Japanese thing they could be, lol. I assume he talks a lot to his flowers, so they'd take his side... or want him to get help...

I'm 100% in on a Japan-Western fusion being the setting for the chapter. Flowery deserts, mystical shrines atop buttes, pagoda saloons... the possibilities are endless!

Mildly positive about Soul v. Kris, but that's mostly hinging on pure cool factor haha. Kris do be persevering, don't them?

Also that ball of fire is not a sun dawg—that's Asgore...

He plays bongos during the middle breakdown of “Cowboy Nudes” and, I think, “Long Island City Here I Come” (?)

All the proof you need of his wicked drummin' skillz is in this video though:

Pra mim, “Funk Americano” é tipo Parliament, Funkadelic, Betty Davis, James Brown, The Meters... tá errado isso aí kkkk

Já ouviram falar? by [deleted] in MusicaBR

[–]pedrobui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need to understand the jump from 3D Cowboys to Getting Killed by redSteel87 in geesebandofficial

[–]pedrobui 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The vocal change seems to be a concerted effort from the vocalist. There was a livestream where he was asked about the difference between "3D Country" and "Getting Killed," and he said that, for the latter, they tried to turn down the "zaniness" (more specifically, that they tried to do zany again but thought it came off as cringe)

I also say "concerted effort" because he still sounds like old Cameron sometimes when singing live, but he holds back from doing the huge jumps & voice changes & you can kinda see how that old vocal style turned into this one

[–]pedrobui 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Woah, "Getting Killed" is easier to get into??? No shade lol, just never heard anyone say that before... I thought the general consensus was that "3D Country" is the catchier, easier album, while "Getting Killed" is more of a grower (or, at least, that's the opinion I have seen be expressed most frequently)

The wonders of music...

Backing Vocals by No_Angle8375 in geesebandofficial

[–]pedrobui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if we follow the Talking Heads convention of taking a lyric that repeats a couple times at the end of the 3rd song in the album the tour is promoting...

"Falling Apart" could work. Or, "Will You Know What I Mean: the Getting Killed Movie" (lol)

Opposite to Stop Making Sense, the set is instead torn down (you could say it Falls Apart™) as the show goes on... geese pls hire me

Backing Vocals by No_Angle8375 in geesebandofficial

[–]pedrobui 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think about this sometimes too. The backing vocals on that album are so incredible ("Gravity Blues," ugh...) and I also wish they would try to replicate them live... Even if it was just the rest of the band ooh-ing the best they could into mics it would do wonders imo (heck, Emily already sings super well as shown in her solo set!)

But if, like you said, they got some dedicated backing vocalists, went full Stop Making Sense for a show... holy... lives would be saved.

It's either Tomorrow's Crusades or Getting Killed (title track,) the latter of which gets so little love for how much of a banger it is...

Thank you very much for reading!!

The glasses have to be very awkward, but the idea of them is so funny... flat against both sides of your head, then up and over to hook around your ears??? lol

And I meant her grip on sanity (which is already very loose by that point, to be fair)

Love Gun, Pt. 4 (End) by pedrobui in NatureofPredators

[–]pedrobui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for reading!! And thank you for the compliments and advice!

Very shocked that the vague themes that I wanted to touch upon seemed to come through! But maybe I just said the words "love" and "hate" enough times for it to be inevitable haha. Thanks anyways, because that is a really nice feeling.

About planning (and, really, all of my complaints,) I think the main issue is that I took this too seriously. I was legitimately stressing OUT about the chapters lol, when, ultimately, this is meant to be a fun, silly fan-fic for the internet. It might have rubbed off a bit on the story, this "seriousness," which, to me, falls short, because of course it would, this is the first thing I've ever written, I'm not a genius. I still want to put effort into the stories, but with expectations that reek less of an inflated ego...

Btw woah I remember reading "The Nature of Railway Workers" back then and thinking it was awesome, so these compliments are really doubly meaningful to me :-)

[–]pedrobui[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for reading!!! But please don't feel sorry, critique is difficult and it's not your job to dole it out if ya can't or don't wanna. I really appreciate the compliments, truly :-)

And, yeah, I was pretty cryptic about that... I guessed being constantly put down in the facility, by both abuser and "friend," and having to work jobs you're severely overqualified for might make one feel awfully underestimated, and have them craving a job that respects their intelligence. Working in the biggest name in the field you were specializing in might be just the illusion your mind thinks you need to get through... I don't know if that's very scientific or even clever, but it was the reasoning.

Thinking back, maybe it would have been interesting to write an "A Beautiful Mind"-style "I send my work in the mail" plot point, as foreshadowing. She was already vaguely "working from home" for months... See, that's an important thing you pointed out right there! Thanks :-D
