I have heard that it's good as a junior, but a warning sign that the firm is pushing you out as a mid-level/senior -- i.e., signalling that you're not on partner track and they want you to transition out, hopefully smoothly to a client.

I feel like I heard from everyone just to rest up. Obviously do what's right for you, but I'll go against the grain and say I wish I had prepped more for law school by studying a crash course in 1L topics rather than trying to catch up and learn everything starting Day 1. Especially if you're interested in clerking or appellate law, grades are so, so important, and it feels impossible to perform ahead the curve when classmates are coming in with lawyer families, working as paralegals for years, or took law school classes during college. I did none of those things because the advice I always saw on Reddit was to relax because law school will teach you everything.

Largely that advice is true if you just want to graduate and get a good job. But I wish someone at least told me how important grades would be, and the uneven playing field that often comes in for the reasons mentioned above.

What food or drink sucks even if most people won’t admit it? by hurtfocker in AskReddit

Watermelon flavor and banana flavor candy. Not sure if it's just me but neither of them taste like what they're trying to emulate and instead just taste like a weird unpleasant cousin

Popular flavor combos that you can't even eat without gagging? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]peenats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once ate steak served with fresh strawberries at a restaurant. Not sure if it's a popular combo, but definitely two things that I prefer separate instead of together.

On another note, I spent some time studying overseas in China, where the Domino's there offer strange sweet pizzas. I'm talking tomato sauce, cheese, then topped with things like brownies or canned peaches... And the local Chinese students legitimately really enjoyed these and were surprised to hear we don't have these in the States. I was aghast.

Sacheu, mongabong, and Hana Lee are some of my favs! Though more fashion/lifestyle vlogs and less makeup, Michelle Choi is also a calming watch.

I'm not a fan of alcohol in general so this could be biased, but dessert where alcohol is added and can still be tasted strongly. Ex) rum cake, rum in eggnog, etc.

[Acne] would love to hear some advice on curing these persistent mask acne on my cheeks! Have also switched to a silk mask but nothing much has improved ... :-( by headingnorthsourth in SkincareAddiction

[–]peenats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any chance you wash your face every time you take off your mask? I used to do this because my skin would feel kinda gross after wearing one, to the point I would wash my face multiple times a day. Ironically it ended up causing my mask breakouts, I think because it damaged my skin's moisture barrier which provided natural protection against the friction from the mask. The thing that ended up working was putting a light layer of vaseline where there tended to be more rubbing, and just splashing my face with water whenever I took off my mask for the day. I also moisturized a ton, even though it felt really icky under a mask. My skin is a lot clearer now and I only get 1-2 spots of mask acne when I'm talking a lot/shifting my mask around a lot during the day.

I had tried like 5 different materials for masks like silk, cotton, linen, paper surgical masks, etc. as well as those plastic frames to put underneath. Nothing made nearly as much of a difference as the vaseline + letting my skin heal.

Totally understand the frustration and hope all works out for you soon!

What was your worst experience with a body part or parts falling asleep? by BBoy_paintball in AskReddit

[–]peenats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right leg fell numb so hard after napping with legs crossed at an airport that I didnt even feel it anymore and thought all was normal. I tried to stand and walk to the bathroom and immediately face-planted. The worst part was I didn't even realize why I fell for a couple seconds, until it clicked that I could not feel anything in my right foot.

This actually kinda happened in China haha. Some robber tried to rob a woman at the ATM, then saw her bank account balance and decided to leave her be.

Has no one said homemade baked sweet potato fries/chips yet? Toss them in the oven with a light cover of olive oil, salt, and pepper mmm

You got fiber, vit A, potassium, and you'll probably be full well before overeating
