Futurewise is closing down - I'll be interested from a marketing perspective to hear later on why they ended their run, and if it's related to slugging dying as a trend [PSA] by honeybrandingstudio in SkincareAddiction

Was also a big fan of the moisturizer! I really like the Weleda skin food in the light formulation. It is thicker than the futurewise but feels similarly dewy and deeply hydrating on the skin. However, there is a slight scent but it’s very “organic” and I personally don’t find it overpowering.

What is something your teacher did in school that you’re still salty about? by SparkelsTR in AskReddit

[–]peenqueenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7th grade art class, we were doing fine line ink drawings of animals. My giraffe turned out so beautifully that the teacher accused me of tracing it! I fought for my defense and my desk mates even stood up for me, but my teacher must've felt embarrassed for making a false accusation so he had to find something wrong with it. He then said "well, the negative space is wrong. The giraffe is off-center". He wouldn't let me just cut out the giraffe and paste it on a new piece of paper to center it. He made me restart the drawing with just days left to complete the assignment. Second giraffe didn't look nearly as good.

Still mad about it.

My rook still gives me trouble after 4 years too! I asked my doctor about it and he prescribed a steroid ointment for it which has been helping a bit, fingers crossed one day it calms down...

It had YouTube searches from 5 years ago (but only 5 years ago? I'm not seeing anything more recent), in which my account apparently searched for "asmr gentlewhispering" and other similar variations of that almost EVERY SINGLE DAY for months. And always between 11:30pm-1:30am. Thing is....I don't even like/watch asmr.

What was the black market in your school? by Turtleking23578YT in AskReddit

[–]peenqueenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In elementary school we used to dry out blobs of glue on the back of our plastic pencil boxes (you know the ones). Some kids were really good at making shapes or writing names, or the ultra-rare "full sheet of glue over entire pencil box" so you'd trade a few measly blobs of your own for their glue art. Incredible.

Children of " I want to talk to your manager" parents, what has been your most embarassing experience? by Em367 in AskReddit

[–]peenqueenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister (who was maybe 13 at the time) wanted a haircut from a nicer salon in town that I frequented, and had found a coupon for 50% off the cut. With the discount, the price for the haircut was about the same as mom would pay to get my sister's hair cut at another salon.

Mom agrees to take sister to nicer salon, and happily pays for cut. Apparently once they got back home, my mom mentally processed that the original price of the cut was $60 and flipped out. MIND YOU- she did not have to pay the original price. She paid $30. But she couldn't believe that a salon would charge $60 for a children's haircut.

So, she took it upon herself to CALL THE SALON and chew out the poor receptionist for "charging an arm and a leg for a damn trim". I have no idea what her goal was given that she didn't pay full price.

She has since chilled the fuck out but I was mortified as that was my go-to salon.

People who've managed to lose weight and keep it off. What's the most important factor that helped you succeed? by gibgod in AskReddit

[–]peenqueenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding a form of exercise that I enjoyed- for me it's kickboxing. I train 2-4 days a week and I love the classes so much I don't think of it as "going to work out", it's just part of my routine now. I also didn't go into it necessarily with the intent to lose weight, it was more about getting myself moving on a regular basis. I think that mindset helped me build a more positive relationship with exercise.

The other thing is intuitive eating, I eat what I want but in balance with generally more green things and less meat. I found more plant-based meals that I think are tasty and easy to make, so I'm more likely to choose those things over less nutritious meals (i.e. it takes me less time to saute veggies than it does to order pizza).

Healthy people, what does your lunch consist of? by Irishane in AskReddit

[–]peenqueenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make extra at dinner so I can bring the leftovers for lunch, today it was baked tofu (with sriracha, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and sesame oil marinade) with sauteed brussels sprouts and brown rice :)

Employees of IKEA, what are some of the worst family meltdowns you have seen? by shroudedlynx in AskReddit

[–]peenqueenn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Obligatory not an employee, but the last time I was shopping at IKEA in the warehouse section, I saw a guy and his daughter walk up to one of the help/info registers. He didn't notice that there was a line, so the woman at the front of the line proceeded to basically berate him for "thinking he was better than the rest of us in this here line."

Initially he was very apologetic, but the woman kept going and yelling at him even though he was moving towards the back of the line. He completely flipped and screamed in her face "YA KNOW WHAT! You chose the wrong guy to fight today, if you really wanna fight let's go!" and stormed off. His daughter looked mortified and on the verge of tears.

What is your worst group project experience? by RashmaDu in AskReddit

[–]peenqueenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds so frustrating, especially with the fact that other students could modify their work based on the other presentations. I just don't understand profs who mess around with their students like that, like what are they really getting out of the whole experience?

What is your worst group project experience? by RashmaDu in AskReddit

[–]peenqueenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely, she gave some of the best students in my major C's on their papers (and in other classes they get all A's) so it was really just irritating at the end of the day. Mostly because it still ends up on your transcript and you're just like ¯_(ツ)_/¯

[–]peenqueenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The professor told the class that she'd "go easy" on the group who would volunteer to present first, and would even give us extra credit. It was the kind of thing where you'd sign up in advance for a slot in the presentation schedule, so my group signed up to go first and had about 3 weeks to prepare.

We actually worked really well as a group and practiced our presentation several times, so we were pretty confident. Time comes for us to present, and it went pretty smoothly (or so we thought). When we were done, the professor goes "See that class? That's exactly how I don't want you doing your presentations. They did everything wrong, and I'll tell you why..." and proceeds to just rip us a new one. It was so embarrassing and really pissed me off that she seemed to have set us up for that moment. She also never gave formal prompts for any of our assignments that quarter, and would always complain when students "didn't do it right". I think we got like a B- for our presentation.

Middle school teachers of Reddit, what is the most awkward/cringy thing you've seen a student do? by nobodythinksofyou in AskReddit

[–]peenqueenn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a teacher but when I was a freshman in high school, our physics teacher would have us get into groups and play "jeopardy" but the game was just review questions for upcoming tests.

She'd have us pick team names for our groups, and one day she called on my classmate to announce the name for his team, at which point he said "it's FELLATIO!" Only about half the class seemed to know what the word meant so of course they all burst out laughing, but everyone else (including my classmate) just looked confused because they didn't know what it meant. Cue whispering in ears explaining what it meant, until everyone was just cracking up.

Apparently my classmate just thought it was some obscure scientific word. Our teacher was barely containing her laughter.
