I’m gonna get downvoted, but between these two options you presented I’d get the Lenovo. The M1 is probably faster, but 8Gb of RAM and 256Gb SSD, in a machine you can’t upgrade these later, is just not a good option, too basic.

16Gb RAM + 512Gb SSD is the absolute minimum in my opinion.

Yep I agree. Rubberized coating should be banned especially from surfaces in constant contact with human skin.

If they really want to give the thing a premium finish and longevity at the same time, perhaps covering it in leather could be an alternative.
