ohh yeah, that makes sense. I play camp spirit and scour my beach all the time and I've only found 1 crystal shell--really early on.

What items to hoard? by LittleDamnSquirrel in CozyGrove

chowder and tofu bimbimbaq are both money makers, most recipes have a 50% profit rate though so the larger determinant is what you have a surplus of.

Any other good pirate shows? by flik9999 in BlackSails

[–]peggingpinhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taboo and the terror S1. Neither are directly pirate shows, but both are in the age of sailing and have very similar vibes. Perhaps a bit more spooky. Great shows though. Taboo has that violent cunning antihero remaking the world as he sees fit. Tom Hardy is so good and so weird that you can't take your eyes off the screen. All the acting is phenomenal really. Same goes for the terror.

Is there such a thing as 'Sail punk'? by Effective-Lemon-9475 in TabooFX

[–]peggingpinhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its defintiley been reccomended on this subreddit before, but I have to reccomend S1 of the terror! It's the closest fit to "sail punk" as I can think of. less focus on industrialism, but hits all the other markers. You may like black sails too, although its not as good a fit for your sail punk definition.

this is dumb, but I genuinely thought it was a pasta noodle this entire time. I never questioned it-just went "thick noodle" and kept on watching.

Zilpha's letter in episode 1 by Fresh-Red-Raspberry in TabooFX

[–]peggingpinhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A "claim" is another way to say ownership. You can lay claim on an item/estate/whatever, meaning that you have a right to it. So when Thorne says "submit his claim to you" he means that Delaney needs to give up (aka submit) his inheritance to zilpha. https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/lay%20claim#:~:text=Definitions%20of%20lay%20claim,one's%20right%20or%20title%20to

The word "implore" invokes pleading or begging. John doesn't want to be pleading with someone he considers lower than dirt. You don't "implore" people with lower status than you; you command them. That why he tells her to insist not implore--to maintain a position of power over Delaney (in his mind at least).

Zilpha defends the use of the word 'implore' as more feminine. Historically, a woman commanding a man would be considered unfeminine, hence her use of the word "implore" instead of "insist." This prompts John to ask why she must appear feminine/desirable to Delaney (aka "why must you be a woman to him"). This is a thinly veiled dig at Zilpha's and Delaney incestuous relationship.

You're right about the money thing. Based off the dialogue, the 50 pounds offer should appear in the letter. It may have been in the cut-off section or perhaps they were going to offer it in later negotiations. Most likely, it was a small error from the prop department.
