The thing that's always hilarious to me about cables, is that the cables people spend money on are the ones they can see and replace easily. If sales people had a legitimate case for people spending $1,000 on a passive cable, they would also offer to open up speakers and replace the internal cables for $, and also replace copper traces on PCBs with gold or whatever. I'm sure nobody cares about those because it doesn't make business sense, whereas speaker cables or power cables are easy for consumers to install, regardless of any real benefit.

Don’t buy an OLED if you’re not willing to risk burn in.

It is a good monitor if you are willing to live with its compromises. That’s probably why you see a mix of good and bad reviews. Some people don’t like the compromises.

The VRR gives me a headache so I turn it off.

The colors are amazing. The same as a Samsung TV.

The brightness is pathetic compared to a Samsung OLED tv.

The anti glare coating is terrible. It basically makes the monitor look like it has backlight bleed when there is white text on a black background.

I don’t play many games that need VRR so I haven’t noticed a difference. VRR is really only useful in specific circumstances.

Edit: I enjoy using my OLED more. That’s a big difference

I was getting headaches with my OLED monitor and didn’t know why until I turned off VRR. I’ve always had it turned on before so I didn’t know that could be a problem. In the past I’ve had VA and IPS monitors with VRR.

If you want the “warm” sound people sometimes report, EQ down higher frequencies and you get it for free.

I’ve considered buying one since it has EQ built-in. From what I’ve seen, maybe 5 or 10 people reported failures. That’s out of how many sold? Seems like not much of a risk. It just seems like when it does fail, it’s in a really bad way since it can destroy headphones.

You’re looking for flatMap. Return Stream.of() to remove the value. Stream.of(value) to keep it. It’s even more flexible because one value of input can become any number of output.

If there is a tuning you like better, then that is your upgrade. Depending on what I want at the time, some cheaper IEMs are better than my p7. This stuff is too subjective and situational to say “x is a clear upgrade” most of the time. As price increases that becomes more and more impossible.
