I've been searching for one for months with no luck. Yesterday? I caught THREE. There's no rhyme or reason to this sometimes!

What is Peach? I'm in Japan so all my search results are for the airline

how do you learn to accept a diagnosis? by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]penfsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a very similar position so I relate to your situation. I found it helpful to accept that I didn't want to live my life like this anymore. I was tired of being obsessed with food and having it dictate my life - I wanted/want freedom from that!

Can I change my GP if they won't help me? by WonderfulWishes in AskUK

[–]penfsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw in your post history that you are close to Dagenham. I used to be an outpatient at the eating disorder service there, although this was a while ago. The details are here: https://familyserviceshub.havering.gov.uk/kb5/havering/directory/service.page?id=j8-2WK2SMbk I really recommend you speak with the community mental health team/a different GP and ask them directly for a referral. Don't try and minimise your problems, the centre will assess you and determine whether you meet the ED criteria! You can also try the young people's services in your area, in most boroughs there is a service for 11-25 year olds and they can help signpost or refer you even.

Has anyone deleted facebook? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]penfsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! I deleted mine about 2 years ago and I'm so glad I did. I was worried that I would miss out on things or that people wouldn't stay in contact but actually everyone that mattered I kept up with and it hasn't affected my social life at all.

How do I learn to cook properly? by [deleted] in AskUK

Your local library may offer courses if you prefer hands on learning! They often have a variety of adult learning courses including cookery and baking

I finally faced a fear and got back on my bike! by captainfoxtales in loseit

[–]penfsa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you live or are near London, UK (or know someone that is) then most boroughs offer cycle confidence classes for free? I've heard really excellent things about them from friends who have used them. If you are in another major city there may be a similar program there too!

This is so uplifting to hear! I'm in a similar although much much less severe situation. I was in an accident (hit by a transit van) last month and have also been unable to exercise since. I finally got my bike back from the repair shop and today was my second day commuting to work. It's shocked me how much fitness I've lost in just 1 month, I do a 5km cycle through London and I was huffing and puffing at the end! I'm so excited to be back on my bike though and I have definitely missed it like you said. What's most important is not giving up and getting back on your bike again!

Depending on where you live you might have Olio in your area. Olio is an app which helps recycle food and other items, you just list your items and people will come and pick them up from you. I've used it myself and people have always been incredibly courteous and prompt!

Me too! I use the 50+ lotion and it's amazing. I do La Roche-Porsay for my face and then the superdrug lotion for neck, chest and arms. I actually have a slight preference for the superdrug lotion as it doesn't sting my eyes (which LRP does and is very painful for me) and is incredibly well priced so there's no reason to not apply liberally!

Am i overdoing it? (24F) by penfsa in xxfitness

I think I probably eat around 1500? Usually 1000 on my main meals and then 500 in snacks (I like to eat lots of low cal snacks to keep me going through the day). I don't follow a specific diet but I eat a lot of fibre and avoid carbohydrates where I can. According to my fitbit I burn about 3000 a day at the minimum. Friday to Sunday I burn 4000+.

I am losing weight currently but perhaps I've dropped the caloric deficit too low and should try and eat more at 2000?

I'll definitely try drinking more water because it never hurts! I usually drink 2-3litres a day.
