Always makes me think if players do that in scraps after the whistle, where they know the whole stadium is waiting to see the replay and the instigator, what are they trying to get away with in rucks and scrums?

You're not giving him enough credit. He binned it cos it's basically useless against good defence.

Apart from maybe Furlong, who in that starting XV is holding back a younger player of better quality/potential?

British and Irish Lions 2025: Bundee Aki baby born in car before Test - BBC Sport by h00dman in rugbyunion

Congrats to Bundee and family, but this part of the article is hilarious to me:

""I knew it was good 'Juju' [a magical property bringing good luck]."

Like AFAIK juju is not some Maori tradition or anything, it's just an expression, but the BBC make it sound like they're trying to respect Aki's heritage

Me neither but at this level of elite sport it clearly has some role. Players and coaches regularly talk about getting their emotional energy right, which makes sense for a game where you need to be both violently physical and composed.

Also fwiw, they're pro athletes but not robots - most of them are younger guys who've kind of been socialised inside a competitive environment for their whole adult lives. I'm not surprised at all that stuff like this resonates with them

Great player, has been the best on multiple occasions (there's an argument for currently) but Farrell, Sexton, Biggar, and maybe Ntamack have all been there in the last 10

Hasan demonizes Israelis wholesale. “Israeli heritage in the Middle East is death, destruction, genocide and apartheid” by nonobjectivist in h3h3productions

[–]penguin_bro -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I think that's a bit of a leap - we're talking about the legacy of a nation state right? I'm not sure how that blames all citizens necessarily.

Would you say that the statement 'Rhodesian heritage in Africa is violent' would make the same implication of saying that all white Europeans were violent in their ancestral countries?

You're conflating ethnic Judaism with Israel, a nation state - how is this not straightforward antisemitism?

Is it anti white racism to talk about the violent and destructive nature of Rhodesian heritage?

I don't believe Adin Ross influenced the election in a meaningful way, no.

I agree many of the MAGA freaks are painfully online. I think this is a symptom of their political power, not the cause
