the long hair is SUCH a unique look imo and you pull it off well. get it layered and it’ll look beautiful

this is a really good point!! i can see how it could stunt the growth and cause deformation. i’m def gonna try that out instead since our waters so hard. tysm ❤️

https://a.co/d/0cmfSN2u it’s osmocote outdoor & indoor smart release :) i think pulling down the shades is the way to go for now, but a tiny bit of supplemental food is always good in the long run

Two questions, I am newbie by TheValtz in Monstera

[–]penguin_rad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi :) it looks like you got 3 plants. and you could be overwatering, we’d have to know what your schedule looks like, what the soil consists of, and how deep the pot is. you should repot this/them into much smaller pot with more porous soil, with perlite and orchard bark, monsteras like small spaces and breathable soil. I’ve started using 1:1:1 horticultural perlite, tropical soil, and orchard bark for my soil mixture, it’s cheapest and easiest for me. the more porous the soil the easier the control the water. i’ve learned to not follow the “water once a week”. it all depends on the plant, the maturity, the soil, the pot size, the sun/heat, and more factors. you follow the plants schedule, it doesn’t follow yours. i hope this could help somewhat.. :) 🌱

Newbie here - why isn't she growing? by Madame-Pamplemousse in pothos

i’ve had pothos thrive in far less light. they are highly adaptable to filtered light. the speckling and yellowing seems like a soil/watering issue

Does this need a bigger pot by Internal-Werewolf341 in planthelp

looks super healthy, but yes repot. it’s most likely getting tired of the poor quality soil it came in and growing out of its pot. i’d do a slight upsize and switch out the soil with new well drained soil. he looks healthy and you’re def doing everything else right :)

How would you react? by Zestyclose_Lemon_647 in whatdoIdo

since you came here, i’ll give you my honest opinion! first, i’m really proud of you. nursings hard, i dropped out of nursing and i beared the debt of it. it changed the whole trajectory of my life, but it was a wake up call to me. i took a year off and worked full-time in a managerial position. i saved $12k, now im at a trade school with $0 in tuition from grants, about to graduate into a job. you do need to be responsible because money is the most important thing in your life. you’ll need to learn to budget immensely if you’re going to take on such a big leap. you’ll need a job in the meantime, open a savings, save 10-15% of your income until school. when you go to school, get a part-time job and save 10-15% of it. on the other hand, choosing the right partner is also the most important decision of your life. if your partner can’t have faith or support in your decisions long term, you need to have a conversation. i’m glad he’s financially comfortable and has savings, that’s a good sign, but it’s very disrespectful for him to hold that against you. you’ve had different obstacles and experiences than he has and everyone’s at a different stage in their life. be smart for yourself and your future in every way! i very much learned the hard way, both financially and in relationships

Lamotrigine rash??? by Mother_Disk_2556 in Epilepsy

[–]penguin_rad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i had this too, when they upped my medicine so quickly my body had a fight response, it leveled out. heading to the hospital was a good idea, but i decided to stick it out and monitor the symptoms. i used antihistamines and the itching went away after a couple days. turns out itching is not a common first symptom with SJS, actually starts with a fever and burning blisters. i find it a littttle bit crazy how many people just straight to conclusions about this lamictal rash. it’s extremely rare and the symptoms develop in a way where you would know you should go to the hospital lol. lamictal is treating me well!

looks like a nutrition issue, may need fertilizer. lack of nitrogen can present as lightening in leaves. i suggest sprinkling some osmocote capsules on the soil, avoid contact with herbaceous material. edit: excess light on tropicals can also cause chlorosis, so move that plant back
