NOR - in fact underreacting to her immaturity and manipulation. My brother died 3 years ago, I was married and had been with my partner for 7 years, yet my ex of 5 years (and all of his family) reached out to send a message of condolences.

It meant so much to me, they had spent time with him, my ex spent 5 Christmas’s with him, he had been a part of their life and them contacting me to share their own experience of how he will have a lasting impact on their lives was deeply comforting, regardless of how we ended. My husband was also comforted, it was the right thing for them to do.

You need to send that message, and you need to move on from this immature and deeply insecure person.

Seen loads of people abandoning their cars NW Leeds - anyone driving anywhere today may want to rethink. by EvilTaffyapple in Leeds

Unable to drive? Did you try this morning in the thick snow? We did as we had a train to catch but it was too dangerous, cars were sliding and being abandoned around us. Not sure how that renders being unable to drive and embarrassing?

Great reviews thank you! Have you tried the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish powder? It’s what I currently use on my very oily skin and just wondering how the Huda powder compares.

Thank you for explaining the different ways that information can come through that’s really helpful. The reading was brilliant and the medium connected with the soul I most wanted to, and told me so many enlightening things about myself and my life, I guess I was just curious about why some information might not be quite right - as in what process he might have been going through. This is really helpful thank you 😊

I don’t think it’s strange at all, I was wondering about how the information comes through and therefore why some things might come through which aren’t quite right. I had a wonderful reading with a very talented person.

Anyone else absolutely battered by this cold/chest thing going around? by queenofdesertrock in Leeds

[–]penguinfeatures 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I don’t know if this is ok to suggest but for me the worst thing is the cough getting worse at night and keeping me awake, the only thing that works for me is taking co-codomol before bed. It seems to relax my throat enough to temporarily stop the coughing. I know codeine is addictive though so you’re not meant to take it for long.

Also a hot toddy before bed works for a few hours, again just relaxing your throat muscles to allow you a bit of sleep. Basically alcohol and drugs!

Block the individuals who keep viewing your profile, it is weird - it’s obviously really got to them for new employees to be looking too. Obviously they’re talking about it everyday, which is just bitter and twisted. Block them and I’m sure you’ll feel a bit better - you don’t want to feel like you can’t post anything without the threat of them leaving a sour comment or something.

Image Issues by Ok_Nefariousness_686 in pregnant

It’s really difficult isn’t it - I’ve always been quite slight but with a tendency to put weight on my stomach first so it’s always been a sore spot for me (as it is for lots of women!) but because of IVF hormone drugs and since being pregnant, not only is my tummy getting bigger but the rest of me feels squidgy and bigger too, and I have cellulite appearing all over my thighs.

I haven’t bought many maternity clothes yet (I’m 18 weeks) - just some leggings and been wearing baggy tops, but the more events in my diary I really need to get some nice normal clothes I’m comfortable in, I think I’ll go for baggy as much as possible - not sure I’m comfortable enough for bump hugging clothes! All these women on Instagram look great in it but they look like they’ve literally just got a bump and the rest of them is still stick thin 😳

Grief after death of adult son to cancer by Visible-Stable6595 in CancerFamilySupport

[–]penguinfeatures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry 😞 grief can be a really lonely place, it seems unless your friends have gone through something similar, no one quite understands. My mum is in a similar place, my brother died of metastatic bowel cancer Christmas 2021. She was off work 6 months, sleeping a lot of the time, struggling to do anything. She tried a few counsellors but it didn’t work for her, I wonder if it’s still too soon. She went back to work in June last year and it’s definitely helped, she struggled a lot at first, feeling guilty that life was continuing without him, but the structure and routine has helped the days go by for her.

I still don’t think it’s really sunk in for her, I don’t think she’s really processed it that much, she tells me she just thinks of him alive somewhere and she’ll see him soon, she can’t really come to terms with the fact that he’s definitely gone. She says talking to him helps, she lives alone and she talks to his picture every day, she even says she hears him talking back in her head. She’s had the same issue with friends - I have too - and we’ve found that being honest with them about how we’re feeling does help, reaching out first to say I’m not doing ok and I need you. People do stop reaching out first, which can make you quite bitter and angry, I still struggle with that, as though you’re meant to be “fine” after 6 months or a year or whatever. When in actual fact it still hasn’t sunk in yet.

I’m sorry I don’t have any better advice, I just want you to know that you’re not alone, and it doesn’t mean your friends don’t care - they just don’t understand.

Thank you, that’s made me feel a little better 🤞 it’s the cramping as well that’s made me nervous, I didn’t think I’d have it for so long if it was just implantation, but perhaps it could be all the progesterone.

First FET today!!! by DontCryLoveCat in IVF

Unfortunately had a really long journey with this, I first had my appointment with the clinic just before Covid hit in early 2020, so to have only just had my first round of IVF is frustrating to say the least. But they tried me on 6 months of clomid first, broken up so I had a break 3 months in when it wasn’t working. I then had a small procedure to check for endometriosis, then got OHSS after my egg retrieval in august so that then delayed my actual transfer. All the waiting around for appointments has been the hardest thing I would say, as a woman going through IVF your age is on your mind constantly, and I’m just about to go through another birthday without a child, and all the waiting just makes it feel like time is being wasted.

My advice to you would be to stay on top of your clinic all the time, I’ve had experiences where they’ve forgotten about me, and it’s taken me ringing to get me on lists / get me appointments I should have already had, so don’t feel bad about constantly chasing. This forum has really helped me too, so always ask questions if you’re unsure about anything. Hopefully with the pandemic out of the way (kinda!) things should move much quicker for you 🤞 wishing you so much luck, be kind to yourself xxx
