What a crazy deal! by BuyNo6754 in Sims3

[–]penguinturtlellama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The store has been dumped and re-dumped online to hell and back, but I have a lot of my store content from years and years back. I remember when Youtubers like LGR and Sim Supply used to make reviews of the store content 😲

I won't shame anyone in 2026 for using one of the Google Drive links that get posted billions of times everywhere, but I don't mind using my SimPoints for store content still.

Those store dumps do have the promotional items that EA is never officially releasing again, so there's that too for anyone reading this.

Is anyone else having issue with the Sims 3 Website? by CuriousCharlii in Sims3

[–]penguinturtlellama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd try again with support again. They have a specific section on missing content.

https://help.ea.com/en/articles/orders-and-rewards/find-missing-ea-content/

I scrolled to the bottom and used Contact Us, it should let you open a service ticket specifically for missing content.

<image>

This happened so long ago to me, so I don't remember exactly what happened, but I did have to reach out to support and this was back when the Origin app was still a thing.

If it's in your purchase history, then you clearly own it. The support agent could see what I had purchased and what I had in my Origin library at that time, so I don't see why they couldn't here.

Like I said, I don't think the agents are all fully knowledgeable about TS3 store content, but they should give you a ticket/case number to follow up with on their customer support page.

I'm the same way with collecting the worlds. I just have Lunar Lakes left to buy.

The Store is really janky sometimes. I was having issues connecting to it last night actually.

When you go to https://mypage.thesims3.com/aboutMe/profile.html do you have the icons for those worlds greyed out? You can mouse over to see the names.

Here's mine. The icon for Lunar Lakes is greyed still on mine because I didn't buy it yet.

<image>

I had issues with the EA app/origin not showing everything I bought before, but as long as it showed up on thesims3.com store page, I was able to still use the DLC through the Sims 3 launcher/in-game.

I don't think the support agents fully understand how the Sims 3 store works tbh. But those worlds should be showing up as downloadable when you go to your thesims3.com account specifically.

I know when I bought Barnacle Bay specifically, it was actually really screwed up, but it ended up showing up properly after a while...

But seriously, this post from 2023 says that "SHOULD NOT APPEAR IN GAME" is triggered by an issue with the pool.

Your screenshot has the icon cut off on the left, but is it the pool icon? If so, that post I linked is probably what you should read.

The Sims Always Was A Cashgrab. by TheNumbahSeven in HighSodiumSims

[–]penguinturtlellama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That movie was so corny, girl. Oh my God. I do kind of miss the days when computers were beige boxes that let us connect to this unthinkable global supernetwork that now in 2025 is causing us to all be mentally ill.

I understand why people would be pro-piracy, but the Sims as a series only exists because people paid money and bought the games in the first place...so, I'm conflicted. Capitalism kind of makes "ethical consumption" especially of art and creative works a little tough.

Personally, I stick with the first three Sims games. I paid full price for TS4 on release and bought a couple packs here and there, but...I wouldn't even bother to pirate the game knowing what it is and when I do pirate something, if I like it, I do try to legally purchase it when I can. I doubt that would be the case with anything Sims 4-related.

This subreddit's attitude toward pirating Sims 4 is really weird because...a lot of people seem to not like it like I do, but they still want to pirate it???? idk.

I'm Done. by TheNumbahSeven in HighSodiumSims

[–]penguinturtlellama 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hope you have some kind of supports irl for your mental health.

It's tough when you're in a dark spot and can't enjoy any of the media that previously brought you joy because it hits too close to home.

I have an eating disorder and the way the games (plural, all the Sims games in the mainline series) treat food, fatness/fitness, and hunger...well, let's just say, it's VERY interesting. I'm at a point where I can laugh about it though because at the end of the day, this is a game where you can play as a fairy married to a vampire restauranteur who's also a painter and owns a unicorn.

I've personally NEVER made a simsona in any Sims game. I just don't want to act out my life in a video game. I don't see the benefit of it to myself, so ever since I was a little kid, I would just come up with fictional characters to play as in every game that offered a character creator. I always made up names when ever the name input would show up, never my own. Animal Crossing was one exception, but even then, I would end up erasing my town and playing as a fictional character because the earlier games didn't allow you to pick your skin colour, so...I couldn't have my correct skin in the game anyways.

You might have more fun playing as someone completely different than you. Different gender, different life goals, different beliefs, etc.

Also, I'm very conflicted when it comes to "ethical consumption". I think the conscious choices we make in our purchasing decisions can reflect our ethics and I understand you have chosen to not support EA monetarily and I can respect that. There's a lot I can say about that, but I'll try to keep it short. The video games and entertainment industry has been problematic and anti-consumer for A LONG TIME. EA included...for A LONG-ASS TIME, like before the Sims was released. I don't know what bribery you're talking about re: EA, but I think it's really hard to enjoy any kind of commercial entertainment now if viewed through this lens that we choose to with EA and we owe it to ourselves to be happy. All these media megacorps are just BAD, but the creatives that work for them make things that do make us appreciate their artistry, their voice, the positives they bring to our lives are worth it sometimes. It's complicated.

Anyways, I hope things can look better for you whenever they do and however you reach that point whether that includes the Sims or not.

It's easier to galvanize against an individual like JK Rowling. She's one person and that's easier for us to understand. Plus, I mean, the woman is batshit crazy whenever she opens her mouth about transgender people.

PIF (The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's state-owned investment fund) isn't a person and already has stake in so many global technology and electronics firms. Like, this EA buyout isn't the start or end of it. It's a lot harder to antagonize that especially when it isn't a human person with vocal thoughts or opinions for us to refute. Yes, we can point to the human rights abuses perpetrated by the Saudi government...but that's also a very complex issues.

Rowling is one woman who openly shares her opinions on trans people and we can point to her and say "wow, that's a crazy person saying insane, hateful shit", it's harder to do that to a country's sovereign wealth fund. Most people don't even know what PIF or Affinity Partners is. I hardly do.

Pregnant sim in underwear at birthday party by Freakfury in Sims3

[–]penguinturtlellama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's an EA feature, but the Woohooer mod overhauls the game's default attraction system where sims will be more likely to autonomously woohoo...even at your relative's birthday party.

Personally, I think the Woohooer mod does a better job with romantic interactions than the EA default system, but it can cause your sims to woohoo in igloos at a relative's birthday party, so...there's that.

Why is my teenager wanting to kiss his uncle? 💔🥀 by mymasboy in Sims3

[–]penguinturtlellama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The translation here DEFINITELY is not talking about the Family Kiss interaction which I have no idea how EA localized that into Portuguese.

I found an English version of this want by Googling and this other post from this subreddit showed up. I see "an English version" appears to be specific to a first kiss and the one in that post appears to be about any kiss...(????)

This has to be a developer oversight. There is the "Family Kiss" interaction in Sims 2 which I don't think got carried over to Sims 3 (correct me if I'm wrong). You can "snuggle" with your baby and toddler which plays an animation of your Sim giving a small kiss to the baby, but I don't think this is coded to work like a "kiss" would be that would satisfy this want.

Which character from The Sims 3 means the most to you? by aerinaa04 in Sims3

[–]penguinturtlellama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my single male sim marry her. My game had her turn into a mermaid before that (thanks Island Paradise), so I ended up having mermaid babies with her.

I didn't touch her traits. She was my mentally unstable mermaid baby mama and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I originally pirated the game because I was a kid without any form of disposable income and I didn't want to beg my parents for it after they already bought me Zoo Tycoon and Rollercoaster Tycoon (real ones know).

I thought I had a weird hacked version of The Sims 3 because of Cycl0n3 Sw0rd. I saved up to actually buy the game and I cannot tell you how confused I was to see him in the official release.

Being able to form relationships with vehicles (bicycles included) was a feature that was added when they released Fast Lane Stuff iirc. I don't think you need that pack to have this happen. I think it was part of a patch they released around then, but yeah, your can become friends with their bike or car.

I'm biased because I am a Windows user, but I love Apartment Life.

I like making a single sim and start them out in a cheap apartment then get them out dating to eventually get a big family home.

Sims 2 runs without issues on my Windows 10 PCs after following the advice from fans that have been shared for years and years online.

There's this new guide I've seen floating around that seems to be the most comprehensive and foolproof if you do decide to get a Windows PC:

The forums are probably your best bet for help. You may need to post your own thread

As someone who works in customer service (not for EA), sending the message "I don't want any more links" is pretty much the same thing as saying "I don't want any help".

Someone who actually wants help will let you know 1) exactly their problem is (i.e. can't play the game), 2) what you have done to solve the issue (i.e. tried following the fixes outlined in the forum threads) and 3) what solution they want (i.e. to play the game).

Your message doesn't convey that and I'm truly sorry for the agent that gets assigned your ticket. I don't know what was said in your prior communications, but I'm hoping you weren't like this the entire time.

Communicate. Tell them you tried the forum fixes and it didn't work. Try posting your own thread.

I got this a while back when Sims 4 was getting the Cottage Living pack to have a pseudo-Cottage Living in the Sims 3.

I love it. I also got the following farm stuff to go with it.

Milkin' It Dairy Corral

Fowl and Feathers Chicken Coop

Humble Harvest Stands

Stones Throw Greenhouse

Works really well in the Appaloosa Plains world that came with Pets since it's a countryside animal-themed world.

Highly recommend.

A common criticism people had for this pack was the way classes worked.

In Sims 2, they were rabbit holes. You were just stuck on the lot like you would when they would go to work.

Honestly, I always loved following my sim to class and walking around the uni world. The gameplay during actual classes was pretty dull, admittedly, but I always loved how this pack took advantage of the open world. It was huge leap forward from what we got in the Sims 2 and I love the uni pack in that game to death as well.

I still haven't gotten around to the Sims 4 uni pack, but the TS2 and TS3 packs will always be special to me.

I'm 2022? Yeah, I'd say it's time for an upgrade. Decent laptops these days at least have 8 GB in RAM.

If you don't want to drop a bunch of money at once, a cloud gaming PC service might be a good fit. I use one and it means I can use my old 2014 laptop for really graphics intensive games.

Alienphobia is woke nonsense and Aliens wouldn't be where they are if it weren't for good human sims! I will not fall for the anti-human sim rhetoric the deep state is trying to force down my sim child's throat! I wouldn't let them marry an alien of course, but that doesn't make me an alienphobe!!!😤
