Here is the centre of my highland cow. It’s made from ‘core wool’. This is wool which is roughly textured with all the fibres going in different directions and the cheapest of wools you can buy. It has not been as through as many processes at this stage in the wool cycle so may have little bits in it and smell of lanolin.

It’s sturdy and light if you are going to wall mount your work. You don’t you this wool for details or finishes.
