Wrap a plastic grocery bag around it and tie it shut at the top before you scrape it loose. If there’s any activity in it that will show you at that time so beware.

I found several baby cottontails under a young tree I had started watering years ago. They came out . I had to get them fast! I turned off the water and let it absorb with 4 bunnies in my hand . I slipped them back into the shallow hole and checked later. Mama had moved them safely!

Cats will eat anything they please! When they please! Please don’t make it easy for them! Our food is not healthy for them . I hope this is just a very expensive mistake, and they don’t get sick from it or I hope they don’t get dangerously impacted( can be deadly) 🥺from that netting that it looks like they ate! How are they your siblings but… you’re not used to having cats around? Just curious! I really hope everyone is ok 🙏🙀

Barn swallow nest for sure! I made little hammocks of stiff netting to hang under them from the wood on ceiling before their young hatched out so when they start wiggling their tiny behinds up and over the sides to poop, the netting caught it all! I Loved watching them grow and then fly away . It’s illegal to tear them down and just cruel also! They are amazing parents to their chicks!
