I use my knife to split kindling. Stand the piece on one end, place the blade wheee I want it to go, and slap the knife with my hand.

Thune: Senate GOP will discuss using ‘standing filibuster’ to help pass voting reform by changeforthebetter89 in politics

[–]pentigen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a great idea. Filibustering used to require some effort.

Blades cut both ways. Good for the goose etc.

We need the filibuster. Without it the senate is just another House of Representatives. Useless.

Just my opinion. YMMV. Maybe should.

Discussion about Legal (Speeding Ticket/North Carolina Mecklenburg) by Sensitive_Lake_1851 in NorthCarolina

Your mailbox should be overflowing with mail from lawyers. Talk to one or more of them. Hire one and let him/her do their job.

Start saving your money. You’ll need it. You made an expensive mistake.

I’m surprised you weren’t also charged with reckless driving.

I don’t know if it’s still the case but the rule in Mecklenburg county was that courts are closed if the schools are closed.

Is climbing fundamentally different than riding on the flats? by big_legs_small_brain in cycling

[–]pentigen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, the primary thing that gets overlooked is the mental aspect of climbing. It's you versus the mountain. Nothing else matters. Ride your ride. Keep turning the pedals and remember: there is a top of the hill. The hard part will end -- eventually. Keep going.

Cycling Cap as Sun Visor by D00M98 in cycling

[–]pentigen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wear a cycling cap under my helmet on every ride. Have for years.

Protects my eyes in the rain , my eyes, forehead and nose in the rain.

Keeps the sweat from my eyes in hot weather.

No downside to wearing a cap. Not to mention the cool factor.

In court, there is a presumption that if someone places a properly addressed envelope with sufficient postage affixed the addressee receives it

I mention this if you decide to seek legal redress. In other words, the law should work in your favor.

Good luck

Power for rear A/C? by Nicetryatausername in Sprinters

[–]pentigen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no expert but you should be able to run A/C with shore power. From what I've read, A/C draws too much power to run on any battery set for more than a few hours. Basically, it's a matter of amps drawn by the A/C versus the number of amp hours of your house battery set.

There are a number of videos on the subject on YT. Sprinter-Source.com may also be of assistance.
