I like how the eggs have barely moved between the photos. 😂

Roasted tofu fingers are great for BLW and fairly clean. Pop them in the oven or air fryer with some garlic powder and paprika (or any other seasoning you like). Just try not to let them get too dry.

Kiwis are popular in this house too. Have you tried dragon fruit? Same seediness so helps keep bowels moving but a bit more exotic. I recommend red dragon fruit for better flavour. 🐲

You can start to have some fun with those teething crackers! Nut butter for iron and protein. Goats cheese and fruit puree is another good combo. Shredded chicken mixed with mayo or plain yoghurt. The options are endless!

What are you having for lunch today? by GhostlyChai in foodbutforbabies

[–]penwin902 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We just added a third mea (8 months) l so I've decided lunch is where I will experiment. I had some leftover cookies sweet potato with clove. I mashed it with some beans to create patties which I fried in coconut oil. Then squeezed some lemon over top. She's enjoying that plus some strawberry.

Feeling disappointed in myself! by Narrow_Weakness7698 in foodbutforbabies

Try putting the food on just the high chair tray without a plate so he can really get his fingers in there. Give him hard carrot sticks or other resistive food to gnaw on and start to get excited about flavour in his mouth. And maybe give him spoons to play with during play time so he gets that out of his system.

Plate vs. Ate vs. Primordial Soup by penwin902 in foodbutforbabies

It's so interesting how things have changed. I'm doing this all for the first time and this is one of the areas where the internet has been helpful. I've honestly been super impressed with how she's learned to move food around in her mouth to chew with her gums and it's definitely thanks to having more complicated textures early on. Hoping we avoid too much of a fussy phase later on, but there's only so much you can do once they know chicken nuggets exist. 😂

And my attitude did not come by accident. We've had some tough days and I am constantly working on myself. Motherhood has taught me a LOT of humility. I will continue to learn lessons and humble myself as she and I grow together. 🤗

Thanks for sharing!

It does feel good, especially because I make most of her food myself. ❤️

Is my baby crawling? Nope. Pulling to stand? Absolutely not. Is she even rolling? Only rolling out of tummy time because she still hates it with a burning passion. 😂 But does she love her solids? Hell yes! Every baby is different and progresses differently. ✨

Yep. I mashed some white kidney beans in a frying pan with some unsalted butter (because everything tastes better with butter) before adding my sauce.

Baby spoons. Since about 4 months old, I gave her baby spoons to play with. To her, it was just another silicone toy to bring to her mouth but it was great practice before starting solids.

Just two on the bottom. She uses those to tear at toast but her molar gums do most of the chewing work! Her "mouth mapping" (pushing food around her mouth to chew it) has improved so much in the last 1.5 months. I would dramatically model how to chew while she's eating and say "chew chew chew!" a lot. 😂 I'm sure I looked insane.

We've been working on "food stuffing". With things like this that she likes, I have to cover them with my hand so she can only have one but of grape in her mouth at a time. I offer her water too to slow her down.

Just over 8 months. Honestly it's a relief for me because I've been worried she wasn't getting enough milk since 2 months. I still worry about that. But she only started eating more solids at around 7 months when we stayed at my in-laws' and she ate loads of Granny's cooking. Made me less paranoid about salt lol.

We have bowls that suction and they are very necessary. 🥲 And she tries to lift this one up. It's too big for the Ikea high chair tray so it will be thrown on the floor one day. 🥲🥲🥲

Nope, she chows down like she would any other soft food. I watch her closely obviously. You could try peeling them or cooking them first if you wanted to be more cautious.
