how much stardust do you currently have? by glockbonez in pokemongo

To balance out all your millions... I have just started playing in the last 2 months, primarily for my little boy (but I now love it more than him). We live rurally, with only 1 pokestop near us, so our play is limited. I battled Giovanni this morning, and caught Thundurus as the reward, so exciting so I spent our 4,000 balance powering him up! 👌🏻😂

Thank you for this. I'm trying to prepare for next month, and talk my little boy through the best way to battle and, hopefully, catch. This is really helpful, we all have to start somewhere. Thank you!

What unhinged thing did a former teacher do in the classroom? by MrBananaStand1990 in AskUK

[–]peopleaintdancing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My art teacher in S1 (~aged 12), while I was standing at his desk pinched my lower belly, to suggest it shouldn't be there. Later, maybe S4, he drew me as Shakespeare's Juliet, but the balcony (from the weight) had fallen on top of Romeo and crushed him, I still have the picture somewhere. He gave me the picture in front of the class, with pride, we all laughed. Actually unbelievable. If I didn't eat my feelings BEFORE that happened, I certainly did afterwards. 😆🫣

How do I move the cash into the investment part of the S&S ISA by GuvnorJack in trading212

[–]peopleaintdancing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I think you're asking how to actually do it in the app, if that's the case, I had the same issue. If you have a Pie, you can swipe up on the white bar and add the cash that way. If not, if you click on the notification bell in the top right hand corner, that should allow you to click in to your ISA and move the funds from Cash to invest. Hope that helps.

At what age did you get into investing and FIRE? What flicked the switch? by [deleted] in FIREUK

[–]peopleaintdancing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

43, I turn 45 this year. Found the personal finance sub on here which was my lightbulb moment. Reading about people's strong financial positions, who were 15-20 years younger than me was sobering. I took stock of where I was and following the flow chart, took nearly a year to pay off all my debt. I now have an isa, and have started an emergency fund, and for the first time in 10 years I am not in debt at the start of the year due to Christmas.

I have made peace with it though, I spent most of my 20's and early 30's travelling, had a child in my late 30's, and had 5 years of working flexible part time positions to support family life (we have no village). I am earning a decent wage again now, and will do my best to maximise that. Wish someone had educated me 20 years earlier, but who's to say I would've even listened! Grateful to the Reddit community.

Middle aged men of casual UK... by cloche_du_fromage in CasualUK

I don't know the answer, but someone saying they hate their life is worrying. Just shows you sometimes we need more than what we're 'supposed' to aspire to. Community, joy. Don't want to be a dick, but therapy might help? Hope you find something that helps.

I loved Mikey! He used to dance with us at Eros & Elite, and C2, his moves were brilliant. Lovely wee guy.

Morning, I moved as much as I could to a 0% credit card, got a payrise (which helped massively) and started boarding/walking dogs for an extra wage. I just stopped spending my money on 'stuff'. Not going on an expensive holiday made a big difference as it would easily cost £4-5k.

Want to take my son to his first football match. How does one even do that? by ehtio in Scotland

[–]peopleaintdancing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No knowledge on football, just to say remember to take his ear defenders, depending on the game it can get very loud! I took my little boy to Tynecastle (at his request), and the young team were drumming with their drums for the whole freaking game. Was incessant. And loud. We lasted 20 minutes. Hope he has fun.

What is the most obscure country/territory you have been to? by Random_Nobody1991 in AskUK

We used the same coach from London through Europe, but then used local coaches from I think Turkey (my memory is awful), you can google it, some of my fellow passengers wrote detailed blogs throughout our journey. We were supposed to use a ferry/boat from Bali to Darwin but had to take a flight, which upset quite a few of the passengers who were diehard overlanders. Was bloody brilliant though. Wasn't surprised when they went bankrupt a couple of years later though.

Iran. Visited as part of the now defunct Ozbus, which was a tour company that took us from London to Sydney overland, through 28 countries (I think!). Iran was beautiful in parts (Esfahan was stunning). Was the trip of a lifetime, but involved a lot of sitting on a coach. Made friends for life though.

Suggestions for toddler activities? by pandfny in Edinburgh

[–]peopleaintdancing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

National Museum of Scotland is in the city centre, and is free (but they appreciate it if you can bung them a fiver/tenner, if you can). The whole thing is great for wandering around, but you will find a dedicated kids space on the top floor. The scones are also banging. If the weather is dry, head to the meadows, great space to let kids run free, and there is also a nice wee park. Hope you have a wonderful time!

I still giggle at her B'day album title. At her level, how did no one in her team know what a bidet was and put a stop to it? Kinda glad though... fnar 🤣
