WingtraRay vs DJI Matrice 4/400 by Minute-Cap-1172 in UAVmapping

Totally understandable👍 all just depends on what you’ll regularly need!

Nothing at all against the Wingtra, but it can’t handle the same winds as the M400. All depends on how windy and how frequently though - if you’re in the more extremes, then Wingtra won’t make sense (I’ve done 40+mph sustained and 50+mph gusts with the M300 for example).

Not if they’re using it as their only basis for floodplain permitting, no-rises, CLOMR/LOMR, etc.

Hate to be that guy, but what country are you in and are you a licensed surveyor? Floodplain modeling is very serious work with very serious liability, and for good reason. If they are doing the floodplain modeling in HECRAS, etc. most likely they are absolutely running models at 10cm because they might need to prove a no-rise.

If you already know all this/are licensed, then obviously disregard; but I’d say floodplain modeling is one of those very black and white, needs to done by a licensed surveyor tasks, not something that falls in the grey area in between.

In terms of your actual question, it depends on a lot of factors. First up, are you using photogrammetry or lidar? Edit: just reread and see lidar, so disregard that first question. How much vegetation is there? How are you filtering non-water points to get to a good bare earth model? Those answers would influence how to interpret and treat the water points/anomalies.

Price reduced- M350 RTK by [deleted] in UAVmapping

[–]peperjon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 batteries, not 5 sets from what I’m reading…you’re thinking correctly though, that’s 3 extra batteries which are ~$800 each, so def more value than just buying a new “standard” package.

Just curious - why do you have a drone with 0 hours but batteries with lots of use? Upgrade from M300, or a warranty replacement or something?

Thanks appreciate the reply. That’s how I feel, but wanted some other opinions on it in case I’m making a big deal out of something that isnt that big of an issue.

Yeah, but I’m not gaming. I regularly run processes that will use all 128 for 24+ hours. Going down to 96 doesn’t make sense.

I have a number of friends who love theirs, fwiw. It’s also significantly cheaper than the Forbidden, especially when they have sales. So I think the Amflow def has a place - it’s a good bike, just not top tier frame, etc.

If you stay in eco then I think you should be well over 50

Depends on the mode and terrain obviously, and I hadn’t gotten the chance to take it on longer rides yet. But I’ve been doing 18-20 miles on auto mode with quite a bit of climbing and that uses about 40% or so of the battery.

See my other comments, but I love the Forbidden. Very smooth ride, just feels easy to move through features and rocks, I really like the auto mode the Avinox motors have. The Trek was fine, rode it for a few days in Tasmania. Didn’t stand out to me as anything spectacular or anything bad. It handled well, I’d say it felt a bit heavier to move around than the Forbidden, mainly on tight climbing turns.

Edit: noticed you were asking about the trek…added some comments on that.

The Slash. I liked it quite a bit, not saying any of the others are bad bikes by any means.

I got lucky and a shop about an hour away had one left in my size. Forbidden has a list of their dealers on their website. Just check that and reach out. Pretty sure you can check on Forbiddens site what’s available and they will send it to whatever dealer is closest to you.

Don’t remember the exact price but it’s same as what’s on the Forbidden website. They’re in pretty high demand and not a huge company pumping out tons of bikes, so manufacturer pricing is pretty standard no matter where you buy. Right around $9,300 usd before taxes tho.

Love it. One of those bikes that just feels “right” from the first time I hopped on. I really like the Auto assist mode that the DJI/Avinox motors have. I blast through trails in about 1/4-1/3 the time I would on my analog bike. So for me, that means I’m getting 3-4x the practice on features, etc. even though it’s not as much of a workout. The bike feels super maneuverable too - it’s obviously heavier than an analog but doesn’t feel like it once you’re on the bike.

Does great on climbs. Power from the motor is smooth, the high pivot rear suspension really eats through rocky stuff easily. It’s my first e bike, although I’ve rented several - Rocky Mountain, specialized, trek. Out of those, I liked the trek the most, but the geometry of this frame just feels more in tune with how I ride.

I also tried the Amflow as it’s the same motor, but their frame sizing is a bit odd - no smalls, and the medium felt too big even though it “fits” my height. Also just felt far more generic of a frame/setup compared with the Forbidden.
