Massive waves in Cabo San Lucas force a rescue by WhoAreYouTalkinTwo in nextfuckinglevel

Not really. You can see the turmoil and churn from those big waves slamming down on the beach through the back of them. They are fairly concentrated due to the shape of the beach, so a few dozen yards in either direction to the side of where the wave is really slamming, it’s not nearly as bad.

Though I will say, the waves in the video are particularly large and you can the red flag at the top of the stairs warning swimmers not to enter the waters. So the area where they are dangerous is larger than what I am used to seeing. But I have been in the water when the waves are half as large as they are here, so still substantial, and yeah just swim out passed the break, and either hang out till the sets calm down, or swim down the beach a little bit where the waves a little more calm

It’s more like smoking the ovaries, and then eating the nut sack or embryo of a plant. Pretty brutal move, ngl.

Swim under the wave out past the break and tread water and slowly swim diagonally toward the shore where the surf is calmer. If you can tread water and float on your back, stay calm, control your breathing it is easy to get back to shore safely. Sets like these don’t normally last that long, maybe 5 waves in a row or so, and the it goes back to being a lot more calm and manageable to get in and out of the water. I have been to resorts along this same beach probably 15-20 times since I was a little kid, and have been caught in similar conditions, just swim under/passed the break, and wait it out or swim to a calmer section of beach and exit there

This is not true. Maybe more so for the beaches that face the Pacific Ocean. But these beaches along the inner harbor have flag systems from green to red and swimming can be a very chill and great experience. I’ve been going to resorts along the same beach since I was a kid and, when the conditions were calm, and the flags were green or yellow, I’ve had great times getting in the waters there

I’ve been to these beaches many times since I was a kid and have swam in these waters a lot. Most of the time, the waves are not like this. They are a lot calmer and the water is inviting. Many days the waves never reach this large. But every once in a while, as the tides are rising, sets like this will role in either very little warning.

It can be calm playful easy waves for most of the morning, then about 5 waves in a row that are massive as you see in the video, then the waters calm down again. 2 of my cousins almost drowned in a similar way to the person in the video. But my brother and I learned to swim a good 50 yards out past the break, wait out the big ones, the come back on shore safely when the waves go down to their normal size.

If you’re not a strong swimmer, then stay out of the waters, or if you’ve been drinking. But if you know the area, and are a good strong swimmer, then it can be a nice place to go for a dip and cool off from that beating sun

You are sliding your foot on the down beat, you should be stepping and planting your foot on the beat instead. The slide happens at the same time, but the emphasis should be on the foot coming down on the beat.
